The year 2025 emerged as a pivotal milestone in the sector\u2019s development Green Buildings<\/a><\/strong>, as the concept has evolved from being technical practices added in the later stages of design to becoming an integrated institutional framework managed according to measurable performance indicators and built on operational partnerships, and achieves tangible environmental and economic impacts.

Recent analytical data released by the SAEF Index\u2014a system owned by the Saudi Green Building Forum\u2014revealed that the transformation the sector has undergone is no longer limited to theoretical proposals or isolated initiatives, but has become a comprehensive strategic path whose impact is reflected in projects, human capacity building, the business market, and climate action.

The 2025 mid-term review of the 2030 agenda demonstrated the sector\u2019s transition from the operational phase to the institutional track, reflecting the shift from conceptual discourse on carbon neutrality to practical implementation through registered projects, and measurable performance indicators, at a time when the pillars of governance, capacity building, projects, and the business market have been integrated into an interconnected system in which each component supports the others.

The Kingdom Leads in Performance and Quality
<\/strong>Data from the 2025 SAEF system showed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia ranked first among participating countries in terms of average overall performance and quality of impact, achieving the highest score with an average of (76.31) points, in addition to recording more than 1.03 million square meters of certified areas, reflecting the Kingdom\u2019s ability to combine quality of implementation, scale, and institutional maturity.

The review highlighted the maturity of the Saudi Green Building Forum\u2019s institutional role, as it has evolved from an awareness-raising platform into an active professional partner in developing methodologies, implementing applications, and measuring impact through non-governmental professional frameworks based on conformity assessment, and by strengthening the link between policies and practical projects. The numerical indicators demonstrated the scale of the transformation achieved, as the number of professionals registered in the educational and professional system exceeded 7,300, who were active during 2025 in 22 Arab countries, while the cumulative total of projects since 2010 rose to 6,662, alongside the launch of dozens of business-related initiatives.

Green Projects
<\/strong>On the climate front, green project initiatives have contributed to an estimated annual operational reduction of approximately (62,800) metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent, in addition to receiving 29 professional awards, reflecting the growing regional and international recognition of the Saudi experience.

The Secretary-General of the Saudi Green Building Forum, Engineer Faisal Al-Fadl, emphasized that the achievements of 2025 represent a genuine transition in green building practices\u2014which focus on renewable energy, clean water, sustainable materials, and infrastructure\u2014toward thehumanity\u2014from technical tools to a measurable institutional strategy\u2014achieved thanks to constructive cooperation with regional emirates and government agencies, and the professional transparency they provided, which enabled the documentation of national experiences and their confident transfer to regional and international platforms.
