Sales have recovered Cement <\/a><\/strong>the domestic market in Saudi Arabia last April, with the sector\u2019s total cement sales rising by 61% year-over-year and 36% month-over-month to reach 6.4 million tons, according to a recent report issued by Riyadh Financial Company<\/a><\/strong>.
According to the report, this increase is mainly due to the seasonal nature of Eid al-Fitr, as the holiday fell in April 2025 compared to March 2026, which boosted demand for cement during the period under review.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3 companies account for 411% of the market
<\/strong>The report showed that three Saudi cement companies accounted for 41.1% of the sector\u2019s market share, with Yamama Cement maintaining its leading position in April 2026 with a market share of 16.31%, followed by Al-Qassim Cement with 13.11%, following its merger with Hail Cement, and then Saudi Cement with a share of 11.61%, while the remaining 14 companies accounted for approximately 59% of the market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sales growth at 12 companies led by Al-Yamamah and Saudi Arabia<\/strong>
A report by Riyadh Financial Company noted that 12 out of 17 cement companies recorded a year-over-year increase in sales, led by Yamama Cement Company, whose sales reached 718,000 tons, an increase of 99,000 tons or 16%, followed by Saudi Cement Company with sales of 641,000 tons, an increase of 88,000 tons or 16.1%.
On a monthly basis, all companies reported an increase in sales, led by Yamama Cement with an increase of 219,000 tons, or 44.81% year-over-year, followed by Saudi Cement with an increase of 185,000 tons, or 41.1% year-over-year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rise in Domestic Sales and Exports<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The report also revealed that domestic sales volumes rose to 4.4 million tons, an increase of 61% year-over-year and 35% month-over-month, driven by seasonal factors. The largest annual and monthly increases were led by Yamama Cement Company and Saudi Cement Company, while export sales rose by 31% year-on-year and 58% month-on-month to reach 174,000 tons, compared to 133,000 tons last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Clinker production declines despite improved sales
<\/strong>In contrast, clinker production fell by 11% year-on-year and 21% month-on-month to reach 5.0 million tons. On a monthly basis, 10 companies reported a decline in production, led by Yanbu Cement with a decrease of 112,000 tons or 19.1%, followed by Tabuk Cement with a decrease of 110,000 tons or 7.5%.
On a year-over-year basis, seven companies reported a decline in production, led by Riyadh Cement Company with a decrease of 124,000 tons, or 36%, followed by Al-Safwa Cement Company with a decline of 113,000 tons, or 40%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Clinker inventories rise for the second month
<\/strong>The report indicated that clinker inventories rose slightly on a month-over-month basis for the second consecutive month, driven by higher clinker usage in cement production and increased clinker sales, reaching 43.9 million tons\u2014an increase of 0.8% month-over-month, despite a 1.8% decline year-over-year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Southern Cement Company topped the list of companies with the highest inventory levels at 13.5%, followed by Yanbu Cement Company with 11.71% of the market share, then Al-Yamamah Cement Company with 11.71% of the market share, and Al-Qassim Cement Company with 10.91% of the market share.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
