Shares The Community-Based Developmental Housing Foundation (Sakan) <\/a><\/strong>As part of the Kingdom\u2019s delegation participating in the World Urban Forum (WUF13), held in the Azerbaijani capital of Baku, headed by His Excellency Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, Minister of Municipalities and Housing and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Housing Foundation; to showcase the Kingdom\u2019s pioneering national experiences in urban development and sustainable housing, and to highlight the Kingdom\u2019s efforts to empower the nonprofit sector and promote sustainable housing solutions.
In a number of specialized sessions and meetings, \u201cSakan\u201d highlighted the experience of The \u201cJood Al-Iskan\u201d Platform\u201d <\/a><\/strong>As a pioneering Saudi model in the use of technology and community-based financing to enable eligible families to access adequate housing, as well as to explore innovative financing solutions and the role of partnerships in promoting housing sustainability.

Stimulating Housing Development
<\/strong>During a panel discussion titled \u201cEffective Financing Models and Solutions to Facilitate Homeownership in Housing Projects,\u201d Rashid bin Mohammed Al-Jalajil, Secretary-General of the Community Development Housing Foundation (Sakan), reviewed the most notable national initiatives aimed at stimulating housing development and enhancing the social impact of investment in the nonprofit housing sector.
Al-Jalajel emphasized that the significant support the \u201cJood Al-Iskan\u201d platform has received since its establishment from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister\u2014may God protect them both\u2014has helped enhance the platform\u2019s credibility and cement its position as one of the most prominent national models in housing development.
He noted that the donation by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince\u2014may God protect him\u2014to the \u201cSakan\u201d Foundation, represented by the \u201cJood Al-Iskan,\u201d marked a turning point in expanding the impact of housing initiatives and strengthening community participation, noting that this significant support has helped accelerate the process of enabling eligible families to own homes in various regions of the Kingdom.

Investing in Housing Initiatives
<\/strong>He explained that the social return on investment in housing initiatives goes beyond the concept of direct support, as every riyal invested contributes to achieving a sustainable social and developmental impact that is reflected in families\u2019 stability and quality of life, emphasizing that housing sustainability begins with a variety of solutions and financing options tailored to the needs of different families.
He highlighted the role of collaboration among government agencies, the private sector, and the nonprofit sector in building an integrated, participatory system that contributes to more inclusive and sustainable housing solutions, as well as the importance of digital transformation in enhancing transparency, increasing public trust, and facilitating contributions from individuals and donors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Supporting Families' Needs
<\/strong>During the session, he discussed the role of artificial intelligence and data analysis in improving the efficiency of housing assistance and better aligning the solutions provided with the needs of eligible families, thereby contributing to the development of more accurate and sustainable models in development work.
He emphasized that the goal is no longer limited to simply providing housing, but extends to building stable and sustainable communities that enhance quality of life and support social and economic development, in line with the objectives of the Kingdom\u2019s Vision 2030.
