The sector\u2019s growth is also supported by the accelerating pace of implementation and rising levels of government and private spending, which has positioned the construction market to become one of the most <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/amlak.net.sa\/en\/102433\/\">Building and construction <\/a><\/strong>Global growth in the coming years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Vision 2030 is reshaping the sector<br><\/strong>Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Ajlan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Contractors Authority, believes that the construction sector has become a key partner in achieving the goals of Vision 2030, noting that mega-projects such as Neom, Al-Qiddiya, Al-Dir\u2019iya, the Red Sea, and Roshan have reshaped the market structure and created unprecedented opportunities.<br>Al-Ajlan explained that the construction sector in Saudi Arabia is worth more than one trillion riyals, with approximately 200,000 construction companies operating in the domestic market.<br>He also noted that eight key sectors have been directly impacted by the Vision projects, including education, real estate, energy, utilities, healthcare, manufacturing, transportation and logistics, tourism, entertainment, and hospitality, which has significantly boosted demand for construction services.<br>The growth of the construction sector is closely linked to the expansion of the logistics sector, with road, port, and airport projects representing one of the key drivers of demand. Al-Ajlan emphasizes that the significant development of logistics infrastructure strengthens Saudi Arabia\u2019s position as a regional investment hub and paves the way for more construction projects in the coming years.<br><br><strong>Saudi Arabia Is on the Verge of Becoming the World's Largest Construction Market<br><\/strong>Saudi Arabia is poised to become one of the world\u2019s largest construction markets in the coming years; a report by Knight Frank estimates that the value of the construction market could reach $181.5 billion by 2028, while the sector\u2019s volume is projected to grow at an annual rate of 4.3%, reaching $141.5 billion in 2023.<br>McKinsey also projected that annual spending on projects in the Kingdom will exceed $175 billion between 2025 and 2028, further cementing its position as one of the world\u2019s fastest-growing construction markets. The Saudi construction sector is expected to remain active over the next ten years, driven by projects under the Kingdom\u2019s Vision, as well as new projects related to Expo 2030 and the 2034 FIFA World Cup in Saudi Arabia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>A surge in allocations... A 457% jump in one month<br><\/strong>In a sign of accelerating activity, the value of projects awarded in Saudi Arabia in March 2026 rose by 457.1% compared to February, reaching 15.6 billion riyals from 2.8 billion riyals, according to the report \u201cA Look at the Construction Sector\u201d published by <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/sca.sa\/user\/switch_language?locale=ar\">Saudi Contractors Authority<\/a><\/strong>.<br>The number of projects awarded also rose by 175% to 11, compared with just 4 in February, reflecting the acceleration of the investment spending cycle in the sector over a short period.<br>According to the report, the construction sector accounted for the largest share of the total value, with 9 projects worth 15.5 billion riyals, while the water and energy sector recorded two projects worth 150 million riyals. The projects were distributed across multiple sectors, including education, valued at 3.975 billion riyals; the commercial sector, valued at 3.750 billion riyals; an investment hotel worth 2.497 billion riyals, as well as projects in sports and recreational facilities worth 2.478 billion riyals, alongside projects in the hospital, building, public utilities, and energy sectors.<br><br><strong>Riyadh Dominates the Project Map<br><\/strong>The Contractors Authority\u2019s report showed that the Riyadh region led the way in terms of both the value and number of projects, with a total of 9 projects worth 15.513 billion riyals, representing approximately 82% of the total value, while Makkah recorded one project worth 99.75 million riyals, and Najran recorded one project worth 50.25 million riyals.
