According to the data, exports also declined <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/amlak.net.sa\/en\/104988\/\">Cement <\/a><\/strong>Clinker production stood at 589,000 metric tons, compared with 656,000 metric tons a year ago, down 10.2% from May 2025.<br><br><strong>Decline in Cement Production<\/strong><br>Production volumes at cement companies operating in the Kingdom, numbering 17 companies, to approximately 4.2 million metric tons in May, compared to approximately 4.8 million metric tons in the same month of 2025, representing a decrease of 13.5%.<br>The report attributes this performance to the fact that May coincided with the Hajj season and Eid al-Adha, which led to a relative slowdown in some construction activities and project implementation rates, in addition to the repercussions of geopolitical tensions in the region, which affected export flows to a number of regional markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In terms of performance since the beginning of the year, the data showed that the sector was unable to maintain the levels of activity it had recorded last year, as total production by companies during the period from January to May 2026 reached approximately 21.6 million metric tons, compared to 22.6 million metric tons during the same period in 2025, a decrease of 4.3%.<br>Domestic sales also fell during the first five months of the year to 20.8 million metric tons, compared with 21.8 million metric tons for the same period last year, marking a decline of 4.6%, while exports fell even more sharply, reaching 2.6 million metric tons compared to 3.9 million metric tons, a decrease of 20.7%.<br><br><strong>Strong performance last year<\/strong><br>This decline comes after an exceptional year in which the sector posted strong performance, as Saudi cement companies ended 2025 with remarkable growth rates in production, sales, and exports.
