What Are the Reasons for the Increase?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The construction cost index in Saudi Arabia rose in May 2026 by 2.6% year-over-year compared to the same month in 2025, amid continuing pressures on inputs across the construction sector\u2019s various activities, according to data <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.stats.gov.sa\/ar\/\">General Authority for Statistics<\/a><\/strong>.<br>The data showed that this increase in <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/amlak.net.sa\/en\/105404\/\">Construction costs<\/a><\/strong> This was due to a 2.5% increase in construction costs in the residential sector, coupled with a 3% increase in costs in the nonresidential sector during the same period.<br>The residential sector saw a rise in costs driven by a 4.7% increase in equipment and machinery rental rates, which was most clearly reflected in the cost of operator-rented equipment, which rose by 6.3%.
