\n The competent authorities have completed the design of the new Abha Airport project, and preparations are currently being made to offer it in a public competition for implementation, which will take place within a period of no more than two years after awarding it to the winning company, God willing.

\nHis Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Khalid bin Abdulaziz, Emir of Asir Region, recently received at his office the Vice President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation, Dr. Faisal bin Hamad Al Saqeer, and the accompanying team. During the meeting, His Royal Highness was briefed on the development project of the new Abha Airport, and the most prominent elements of the future airport design project, which was recently completed, where the Vice President of the Authority provided an explanation of the new airport project, reviewing all its elements, the expected time period for completion and details of the general plan for the future airport.
\nAl-Suqair said that the General Authority for Civil Aviation (GACA), with the great support of His Highness the President of GACA, Prince Fahd bin Abdullah Al Saud, is continuing to implement construction and modernization programs for the Kingdom's airports in order to develop them in line with the growth of the global air transport market.
\nIt should be noted that the main elements of the new Abha Airport project consist of a new passenger terminal that accommodates 5 million passengers annually, 20 mobile electric bridges to serve passengers boarding planes, an apron and parallel runways that accommodate 26 aircraft simultaneously, parking buildings that accommodate 2800 cars, a mosque with a capacity of 1000 worshipers, buildings for meteorology and environmental protection, airport management, air navigation and airport maintenance, as well as buildings for security agencies working at the airport, and administrative and technical support buildings.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
