Riyadh is opening a new page in its journey today. The \u00abLib 2026\u00bb conference\u00bb<\/a><\/strong>With the launch of the fifth edition of the Global Technical Conference, which in a few years has transformed from a specialized event in the technology sector into an international platform that brings together major technology companies, investors, innovators, and entrepreneurs, connecting investment opportunities with the latest innovations that shape the digital economy.
The fifth edition of The \u00abLib 2026\u00bb conference\u00bb<\/a><\/strong> During the period from August 31 to September 3, 2026, at the Riyadh Exhibition and Conference Center in Al-Imam, under the theme \u00abTo New Worlds,\u00bb organized by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the Saudi Union for Cybersecurity, Programming, and Drones, and the \u00abAl-Alliance\u00bb company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new version comes after the value of the launches, investments, and projects announced during the previous four editions in Riyadh exceeded $44.2 billion, solidifying LiB\u2019s position as one of the leading platforms that attract capital and global technology companies to the Kingdom.
Lib 2026 brings together more than a thousand global speakers and experts, more than 1,800 technology companies, along with more than 600 startups, and more than 1,900 investors and representatives of venture capital funds, in a program that extends to a wide range of technological and economic sectors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From a technical conference to a global movement<\/strong>
Since its first edition in 2022, Lib has taken a progressive path in terms of attendance, investment size, and scope of international participation. The first edition attracted more than 100,000 visitors, with the participation of more than 500 speakers, 700 exhibiting companies, and 403 startups, alongside more than 330 investors.
That edition witnessed the announcement of launches and investments worth $6.4 billion, an early indication of the conference\u2019s ability to bring together global investors and companies with innovators and entrepreneurs, and to turn technological ideas into projects and opportunities that are viable and scalable.
In 2023, the scope of participation in the second edition expanded, with the number of visitors exceeding 172,000, an increase of over 70% compared to the first edition; while the number of speakers increased to more than 700, the number of exhibitors to 900, and the number of startups to 500, along with more than 1,026 investors.
The value of announced issuances and investments also jumped to $9.5 billion, an increase of nearly 48 percent from the previous year, strengthening Lib's role as a link between capital, technology companies, startups, and global markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2024.. A leap in presence and investments<\/strong>
Lib continued to grow in its third edition in 2024, welcoming more than 215,000 visitors, an increase of 25% compared to the previous edition, while the number of speakers exceeded 1,100, and the number of exhibitors exceeded 1,800, along with more than 600 startups and 1,600 investors.
The value of the announced launches and investments during that edition reached $13.4 billion, an increase of nearly 41% compared to 2023, and more than double the value recorded in the first edition.
Thus, the total value of the announced launches and investments during the first three editions reached $29.3 billion, at a time when the scope of the topics discussed by the conference expanded to include artificial intelligence, cloud computing, smart cities, financial technology, healthcare, education, space, and e-games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

14.9 billion dollars in the fourth edition<\/strong>
In 2025, Lib continued its growth trajectory with the fourth edition, which attracted more than 200,000 visitors, with the participation of more than a thousand speakers, 1,800 exhibitors, and more than 680 startups, within a program that brought together technology leaders, experts, investors, and decision-makers.
The fourth edition saw the announcement of investments and projects worth $14.9 billion, mainly focused on artificial intelligence, cloud computing, data centers, and advanced technological infrastructure.
A group of major global technology companies, including Lenovo, Google, Qualcomm, Salesforce, Tencent Cloud, Databricks, and Samsung, participated in these investments.
With the addition of the results of the fourth edition, the total value of the launches and investments announced across the four editions has risen to more than $44.2 billion, while the value of annual advertising has increased from $6.4 billion in 2022 to $14.9 billion in 2025, with growth of approximately 133%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lib's figures reveal the widening of the platform<\/strong>
Lib's growth was not limited to the value of investments; it extended to the size of participation and the components of the system that the conference brings together. The number of exhibitors increased from more than 700 in the first edition to more than 1,800 in the third and fourth editions.
The number of speakers has also almost doubled, from more than 500 speakers in 2022 to more than a thousand speakers, while the number of startups has increased from more than 403 companies in the first edition to more than 680 companies in the 2025 edition.
In the investment side, the number of investors increased from more than 330 investors in the first edition to 1,600 investors in the third edition, reflecting the expanding role that Lib plays in connecting startups with global funding sources, expertise, and markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00abLib exceeds the limits of Riyadh<\/strong>
Leap\u2019s expansion did not stop at the growth of the venues hosted in Riyadh; the conference entered a new phase in July 2026 with the launch of LEAP East in Hong Kong, the first international expansion of the movement since its launch in the Kingdom.
The Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre hosted the first edition of \u00abLEAP East\u00bb from July 8 to 10, 2026, in partnership with the Office of Innovation, Technology and Industry of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event attracted more than 25,000 visitors, 450 exhibitors, more than 600 investors, and brought together technology sector leaders, investors, and founders of start-up companies from Asia and the Middle East, alongside Saudi technology companies showcasing their solutions and innovations to global markets.
As Lib moves to Hong Kong, its role expands to become a technological and investment bridge between the Middle East and Asia, a gateway for startups to access new markets, and a catalyst for cooperation in artificial intelligence, advanced technologies, and entrepreneurship.
Hong Kong\u2019s selection as the exclusive location for the Asian edition over the next three years also reflects Lipp\u2019s continued international expansion and its transition from an annual event linked to Riyadh to a technological movement that originated in the Kingdom and began to build a global presence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Riyadh hosts the fifth edition<\/strong>
The fifth edition in Riyadh comes at a time when \u00abLib\u00bb has become a platform that brings together various parties in the technology ecosystem, from global companies and investors to startups, innovators, experts, and decision-makers.
The activities of \u00abLib 2026\u00bb address a number of key topics that shape the future of technology, including artificial intelligence, cloud infrastructure, data and cybersecurity, alongside financial technology, healthcare, smart cities, energy, the climate, space, gaming, sports technology, and digital commerce.
The fifth edition also includes a range of specialized spaces and experiences, including \u00abLEAP Connect\u00bb dedicated to building connections and partnerships, \u00abSports Tech Hub\u00bb showcasing the future of sports technology, and \u00abWorld Tech Zone\u00bb showcasing global innovations, in addition to \u00abLEAP Studios\u00bb for the production of live content. The conference events also include programs aimed at startups and investors, as well as platforms for advertising investments, agreements, and technological initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The path taken by Lipp since 2022 reflects the magnitude of the transformation the platform has undergone in just four versions; from more than 100,000 visitors at its first launch to more than 200,000 visitors in the fourth version, from $6.4 billion in launches and investments to $14.9 billion, and finally exceeding the cumulative figure of $44.2 billion. This growth comes in the light of the support and empowerment that the telecommunications, technology, and artificial intelligence sectors enjoy from His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and the efforts they have made to strengthen the competitive digital environment in the Kingdom and attract investments and advanced technologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the launch of the fifth edition today, Lib continues to build its trajectory as a Saudi-origin, cross-border initiative that began in Riyadh and then extended to Hong Kong, bringing together global technology and investment systems, supporting emerging companies and talent, enhancing the Kingdom\u2019s presence in the digital economy, and opening new horizons for technology, artificial intelligence, and investment from Riyadh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
