it has become a witness to its ambitions and technological leadership, and an economic engine that supports attracting investments, localizing technologies, developing national companies, and connecting innovators with investors and global markets.<br>Speaking about the speed of global developments, His Excellency said: \u201cThe days when we used to develop technological plans that spanned from five to ten years have come to an end; we are now living in an era of rapid acceleration, which requires faster, more agile, and more flexible working mechanisms.\u201d He added that the Kingdom is constantly monitoring market developments and developing its programs and initiatives in accordance with the requirements of the global race, affirming that it is moving forward, with the support and guidance of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince -may Allah protect him- towards leadership and pioneering and achieving qualitative leaps in artificial intelligence.<br><br><strong>Indicators of the growth of the digital economy <br><\/strong>His Excellency reviewed the most prominent indicators of the growth of the digital economy, explaining that its size increased from less than 300 billion riyals at the launch of Saudi Vision 2030 to 522 billion riyals, with a cumulative growth exceeding 75%, and at an annual rate ranging between 6% and 7%, exceeding the growth rates in many countries of the Group of Twenty.<br>He added that the contribution of the digital economy has increased to 16% of GDP, while the size of the telecommunications and information technology market exceeded 199 billion riyals, making the Kingdom the largest digital economy and the largest market for telecommunications and technology in the region.<br><br>He pointed out that the number of jobs and technical talent has increased from approximately 150,000 at the baseline to more than 410,000 in 2026, along with the growth of the entrepreneurship ecosystem and the number of billion-dollar tech companies reaching 9 companies, representing about half of the billion-dollar companies in the region.<br>His Excellency the Minister of Communications and Information Technology emphasized that the Kingdom\u2019s technological ambitions are measured not only by indicators and investments, but also by the extent to which their impact reaches citizens and residents in various regions of the Kingdom. He pointed out that the issue of coverage and the quality of telecommunications services is subject to direct and intensive follow-up by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince \u2013 may Allah protect him \u2013 through periodic reports that monitor the level of services and complaints and the stages of processing. He explained that the gap in access to telecommunications services has decreased from 50% at the baseline to 1%, while the gap in service quality has decreased from 15% to 5%, as a result of the integrated work with the Telecommunications, Space, and Technology Authority and the sector\u2019s companies.<br><br>He emphasized that these results represent an unprecedented advancement given the vast geographical scope of the Kingdom and the diversity of its terrain, while ongoing efforts are being made to increase coverage and quality in the regions of Baha, Asir, Taif, and the rest, especially in tourist sites that witness a surge in demand during the seasons. In the field of digital government, His Excellency pointed out that the Kingdom maintains the second position globally in the World Bank\u2019s 2025 Digital Government Maturity Index, alongside progress in the 2026 Digital Experience Maturity Index for government entities.<br>He explained that these results are reflected in government services that are faster, easier, and more close to citizens and residents, and digital experiences supported by artificial intelligence that contribute to improving satisfaction levels and improving the quality of life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p
