The inspection campaigns tasked with following up on the decision to localize the telecommunications sector by 50% in its first phase resulted in the closure of 1549 violating shops, including 494 in the Asir region, and warned 709 other shops that were closed.<\/p>\n
The tours carried out by the Ministries of Labor, Social Development, Municipal and Rural Affairs, Trade and Investment, along with the security support, seized 2702 violations in all regions of the Kingdom, of which 1993 were referred to the sanctions committee.<\/p>\n
The Eastern Province ranked first with 765 violations, while Najran was the lowest with 14 violations.<\/p>\n
Recent statistics revealed that the number of establishments complying with the decision increased from 669 establishments at the beginning of the inspection tours on the first day of Ramadan to 15,748 establishments as of Shawwal 18, and the Eastern Province ranked first in terms of the number of compliant establishments with 4,828 establishments, followed by the Riyadh region with 2,278 establishments.<\/p>\n
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labor and Social Development for Inspection and Development of the Work Environment, Dr. Fahd bin Abdullah Al-Owaidi, said that the ministry has so far carried out 18,574 visits to separate telecommunications sites in all regions of the Kingdom, indicating that inspection tours will continue until this sector is fully nationalized on the first of Dhu al-Hijjah.<\/p>\n
He added that the geographical distribution of establishments showed that the Eastern Province topped the list with the largest number of telecom shops; the number of visited establishments reached 5310, followed by Riyadh with 2607, Makkah with 2345, Qassim with 1882, Asir with 1689, Medina with 1311, while the rest of the visits were distributed to Hail, Tabuk, Al-Baha, Al-Jawf, Northern Borders and Jizan.<\/p>\n
