\n The number of factories obtaining the quality mark in the Kingdom reached 260 factories, of which 218 factories obtained it inside the Kingdom and 42 factories obtained it from outside the Kingdom.
\n\u00a0 This was explained by Mohammed Al-Kharji, Director of the Quality Mark Department at the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) during the lecture \u00abIntroduction to conformity assessment systems, an applied example of the quality relationship\u00bb organized by the Riyadh Chamber, represented by the Riyadh Small and Medium Business Development Center in cooperation with the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) at the Chamber's headquarters, recently, indicating that the lack of interest of institutions and companies to obtain the quality mark to the lack of awareness of many of them of the importance of this mark in promoting products and the competitive advantage they achieve in the global markets, adding that the Commission will intensify campaigns during the next phase.
\n He said that the Authority has objectives that it seeks to achieve through its vision to be a distinguished reference body in the fields of standards, metrology and quality at the national, regional and international levels. He explained that the mission of the Authority is to protect consumers, preserve public safety and health, protect the environment and ensure the public interest by issuing standards and quality systems and their application. He pointed out that the quality mark is a logo placed on products licensed by the Authority and indicates that these products comply with the requirements of technical regulations and Saudi standard specifications for them and other relevant standards and conditions.
\n He also talked about the certificate of conformity and said that it is a document issued according to its own regulation and that obtaining it confirms that the commodity conforms to the technical regulations or standard specifications for it, indicating that obtaining it requires the fulfillment of a number of conditions in the establishments, and said that the significant growth in national industries and the trend to export products abroad required that exported goods be of good quality to be able to compete and maintain the reputation of Saudi products, adding that this led to the interest in certificates of validity for exporting food products where a system was developed to register food establishments eligible for export through which the establishments are identified.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
