\nHis Royal Highness Prince Khalid bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh Region, extended the deadline given to the owners of professions targeted for Saudization in the first phase, which includes gold markets, vegetable markets, used furniture, real estate offices, public service offices, banks, and household utensils stores, to two months starting from the end of the previous deadline on the 1st of Jumada II.
\n The decision comes to enable the owners of these professions to correct the situation of their workers and replace them with Saudi workers, then proceed to implement Saudization and hold violators accountable.
\nThe Riyadh region emirate had decided in the first meeting of the main Saudization committee to form field committees from which sub-committees would emerge to work in the governorates to implement the systems and instructions for Saudization of jobs, crafts and professions.
\n A large number of economists and businessmen praised the decision, describing it as positive because extending the grace period for two months is appropriate and suitable, giving both parties an opportunity. They pointed out that granting the grace period in light of the problems related to employers and the labor market in the Kingdom is very appropriate within a timeframe that does not put pressure on the passport departments regarding the process of correcting the status. They also pointed out that some consider the period to be insufficient because the labor market suffers from problems, whether in terms of workers classified for certain jobs but occupying other jobs whose tasks do not match the professions for which they obtained official licenses to practice. Since these numbers are large, they constitute a chronic problem that may require more time. However, the decision remains better than a sudden solution, and perhaps the extension will be made before the end of this specified period to accommodate the numbers that were unable to correct, especially since this may put pressure on the competent authorities in completing these procedures.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
