A real estate broker is entitled to a fee for successfully closing a deal, amounting to 1% of the transaction value, unless the parties agree otherwise.<br \/>\n In this regard, Youssef Al-Hashimi, Senior Director of the Real Estate Licensing Department at the Authority, said that these commissions represent the total proceeds from various real estate transactions, including the sale and purchase of a variety of properties\u2014ranging from residential and hotel apartments to commercial offices\u2014in freehold areas, through both outright sales and lease-to-own and deferred sales, with a total value of 55 billion dirhams.<br \/>\nThe Real Estate Brokers Registry in the Emirate of Dubai prohibits brokers from brokering the sale, purchase, or marketing of properties not registered with the Department, in addition to provisions that protect their rights and those of other parties, which increases transparency and competitiveness in the real estate market. The name of the real estate office and the broker handling the transaction are entered into the Land Department\u2019s system during the sale process to safeguard brokers\u2019 rights and facilitate the preparation of reports on real estate offices and their activities.
