\nCoral Hotels & Resorts has contracted Al Fanar Group to manage the group's new hotel in Jeddah, as part of its commitment to expand into the Saudi Arabian hospitality market. Coral's expansion into Jeddah is the result of a growth strategy that will see the group strengthen its presence across the Kingdom, where it currently operates several hotels, including two in Riyadh and one each in Al Khobar and Al Ahsa. The group also signed management contracts for two other Coral hotels in Saudi Arabia at the recent Arabian Travel Market.
\nLocated on Jeddah's magnificent Corniche and set to open in early 2011, the new hotel under construction will feature 54 rooms, eight suites, eight studio apartments, two restaurants, a rooftop caf\u00e9, three multi-purpose rooms, a health club, and a swimming pool.
\nAccording to Michel Noblet, President and CEO of HMH-Hospitality Management Holdings: \u201cThe government's infrastructure investments have given a huge boost to domestic tourism, as well as Hajj and Umrah trips, and increased business travel has opened the door to tremendous opportunities across the hospitality industry.\u201d.
\nHe added that: \u201cJeddah, as the port of call for Mecca, is benefiting from pilgrims whose numbers are expected to reach eight million next year. A 20-year redevelopment program is about to begin, aimed at revitalizing the old city center, in addition to several mega-projects, such as: King Abdullah Economic City, Jeddah Hills, and the expansion of Jeddah International Airport to accommodate 30 million passengers annually.\u201d.
\nAll of this means that there will be an urgent need for all levels of hotel accommodation from deluxe to big names with established status.\u201d.
\nSaudi Arabia was identified as one of the \u201chot spots\u201d for hotel development at the recent Arabian Hotel Investment Conference, prioritizing domestic tourism as a growing sector, but also opening up to international tourism to a limited extent, as well as facilitating business and investment by relaxing visa requirements.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
