The Ministry of Housing announced the handover of three residential projects in both Jazan and Al-Qassim regions, as part of 56 projects underway in cities and governorates across the Kingdom. The residential units have been completed in both Buraydah in Al-Qassim region and the projects in Sabya and Abu Hurayrah in Jazan region. The Ministry is working to prepare for the handover of the housing projects in Tabuk and Khiber.

The ministry revealed that it had issued warnings to contractors who were behind schedule in all of the projects in the Zelfi, Abu Ariq, Tarif, Huruf al-Batin, Arar, Rafah, Sakka, and Qaryat regions, with the completion rates varying among them, with some reaching 65 percent, while the ministry emphasized on contractors to complete the projects within the deadline set for completion. The ministry also withdrew the project for housing in the Al-Ula governorate in the Medina region, the Khurmah project in the Mecca region, and the Nawan project in the Baha region, after it found a slowdown and delay by the contractor, as well as a low completion rate that was supposed to be reached. The Ministry of Housing indicated that it has observed delays in the execution of some contractors and a slowdown in the completion rates, for several reasons including the difficulty in obtaining the basic construction materials and the nature of the project site, including cases where the contractor has failed to fulfill its contractual obligations. The Ministry issued final warnings to the contractors who are late, giving them a final opportunity to expedite the completion of the projects in accordance with the technical specifications approved for Saudi construction, and set a deadline for this, starting from which the procedures for withdrawing the delayed project in accordance with the government\u2019s competition and procurement system will be initiated.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
