The process of \u201curban development\u201d is characterized by dynamism and constant change, which requires flexible mechanisms that respond to these changes and ensure a high degree of tracking and monitoring of all developments taking place<br \/>\nThe Authority emphasized that the land-use survey will provide accurate and comprehensive data on various land uses to be utilized for urban planning purposes, updating periodic land-use data and adopting it as the basis for the city\u2019s planning databases, as well as strengthening and enriching the spatial information of the base digital map, and providing characteristics of existing buildings in terms of (building type, number of stories, construction materials), identifying developed urban areas and determining their numbers, patterns, types, and areas, and identifying urban development trends in the city, She explained that the new land-use survey in the city will rely on field visits and the recording of information on tablets directly from the site; remote sensing technology will also be used to analyze recent satellite imagery.<\/p>\n<p>State-of-the-art surveillance software<br \/>\n There will be state-of-the-art software for monitoring and tracking surveyors and maps to ensure the accuracy and quality of the data, while applying the international land-use classifications adopted by the United Nations. The Authority stated that, to unify efforts between the Riyadh Development Authority and the Riyadh Municipality, it has utilized the latest versions of the digital base maps for the city of Riyadh prepared by the Municipality. There is also cooperation with the National Water Company to record meter readings throughout the city, as the land-use survey is one of the first initiatives the Authority undertook to provide data for use in its various urban studies. The year 1406 AH marked the Authority\u2019s first comprehensive survey of the city; subsequent surveys were conducted periodically in 1411 AH, 1417 AH, and 1425 AH.
