\n Abdulaziz bin Hamad Al Aqeel, Secretary General of the Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting, announced that industrial exports in the GCC countries and Yemen have achieved remarkable development over the past years, with their total value rising from about $727 billion in 2008 to about $1,061 billion in 2012.
\nThis came in a speech during the 14th Gulf Industrialists Conference held under the theme \u201cIndustrial Exports: Opportunities and Challenges\u201d, in the Omani capital, Muscat
\nAl-Aqeel pointed out that industrial exports in the GCC countries increased from about 55 billion dollars in 2008 to about 115 billion dollars in 2012, equivalent to 12.6 % of the total GCC exports, which amounted to about 908 billion dollars in 2012.<\/p>\n
Dr. Ali bin Masoud bin Ali Al-Sunaidi, Oman's Minister of Commerce and Industry, said that the approved Gulf industries suffer from a large number of anti-dumping issues. While international products enter our markets, some with customs duties of no more than 5% and others duty-free, which requires a reconsideration of this situation in line with the goals and strategies of the GCC countries related to increasing the growth of the GCC countries.
\nThe Ministers of Industry of the GCC countries and Yemen, as well as the Secretary General of the GCC, participated in an open discussion session that addressed the most prominent issues related to industry in the region and the issue of industrial exports and the challenges and obstacles facing them.
\n A session on \u201cInvestment Policies and Financing Mechanisms for Industrial Exports\u201d and a session on \u201cSuccessful International Experiences in Export Development\u201d were discussed.
\nHe concluded with a discussion on the experience of industrial exports, legislation and laws and their compatibility with the World Trade Organization Agreement, lessons learned from these experiences and the extent of their application to the GCC countries in credit and financing policies, legislation, laws and mechanisms.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
