The Ministry of Commerce and Investment summoned the owners of 247 violating establishments through its inspection tours of commercial establishments in various regions of the Kingdom to ensure the regularity of their work and to verify the availability of goods, products, food and petroleum supplies. The results of the Ministry\u2019s tours during the past two days, since the implementation of the value-added tax and the correction of energy prices until the end of yesterday evening \u201cMonday\u201d, resulted in visiting 6052 commercial establishments and issuing 247 violations against those establishments.<\/p>\n
The violations observed by the ministry\u2019s inspectors included violations by gas centers, markets, shops and outlets, as well as gas stations that refused to sell and did not adhere to the set prices, as they were obliged to supply consumers with petroleum products. Accordingly, immediate fines were issued to all violating commercial establishments.<\/p>\n
The Ministry\u2019s inspection teams continue to take all necessary precautions in cooperation with government agencies, including security agencies, under the supervision of the Joint Consumer Protection Operations Room, to ensure rapid intervention in various regions of the Kingdom, and to carry out their inspection tours and respond to consumer complaints immediately around the clock. The Ministry also monitors its branches and offices in cities and governorates to detect and control any violations, and to take the necessary legal measures immediately.<\/p>\n
The Ministry affirms that it will not tolerate any violations and will impose the prescribed penalties on violating commercial establishments. It calls on all consumers to cooperate with it and report their complaints to the Ministry\u2019s reporting center at number (1900), or through the \u201cCommercial Report\u201d application or the Ministry\u2019s website.<\/p>\n
