The Council for Economic Affairs and Development (Quality of Life Program 2020), which is one of the programs to achieve the Saudi Arabia 2030 Vision approved by the Council of Ministers, is the completion of the operational programs previously launched to support the achievement of the 2030 Vision\u2019s axes and strengthen the pillars of strength of the Kingdom. The implementation plan for the Quality of Life Program 2020 reflects the vision of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, may Allah protect them, and their directives to create the necessary environment to improve the lifestyle of individuals and families, support and develop new options that enhance participation in cultural, recreational, sports, and other appropriate activities that contribute to enhancing the quality of life, create jobs, promote investment opportunities, diversify the economic activity, and enhance the position of Saudi cities in the ranking of the best cities in the world.<\/p>\n
The launch of the Quality of Life Program 2020 comes in follow-up to His Highness the Crown Prince, Chairman of the Economic Affairs and Development Council, in achieving the objectives of the Saudi Arabia 2030 Vision, and His Highness\u2019s keenness to make the Kingdom\u2019s economy more prosperous and the Saudi society more vibrant. The total spending in the sectors related to the Quality of Life Program 2020 until 2020 amounts to 130 billion riyals (34.6 billion dollars).<\/p>\n
During the preparation of the program, fundamental pillars were relied upon to support the improvement of infrastructure and lifestyles, while others enabled the achievement of the desired goal:<\/p>\n
\u2022 Developing strong infrastructure in the cities of the Kingdom. Providing comprehensive services to the population to meet their living needs. Providing a social framework that enables the interaction of citizens and residents.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Developing comprehensive infrastructure that serves the lifestyle. Providing high-quality and diverse options for the lifestyle. Motivating people to interact and ensure their participation through activities and events specific to the lifestyle and the community as a whole. Defining the regulatory framework required to enable quality of life for all categories. Building financing mechanisms that include models of public-private partnership, incentives, and public investments to facilitate the participation of the private sector.
