The Ministry of Housing plans to support citizens who default on rent payments who have rented their homes through the \u201cEjar\u201d network with amounts up to 22 thousand riyals, starting next August, and indicated that the number of citizens in the \u201cEjar\u201d network who were exempted from paying rents after confirming their poor financial solvency reached about 3 thousand citizens, indicating that the number can increase with the allocation of a budget for the defaulters' support program<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

She said the subsidy amounts for defaulting tenants will come from the Ejar program fees.<\/span>\u201d .<\/span>The ministry plans to include defaulting citizens who rented their homes outside the network and had cases filed against them in the enforcement courts due to their inability to pay and poor financial solvency, the sources said<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

She pointed out that there is a development program that the ministry is working on that will help prevent citizens from defaulting on their rents in the coming phases<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

In 2016, the Council of Ministers approved the formation of a committee (or more) in each region or governorate by a decision of the Minister of Housing to deal with cases in which a Saudi tenant is unable to pay the rent or vacate the property, either due to imprisonment, illness, death, or poor financial ability<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n
