\nTrading over the past period saw a sharp decline affecting market stocks, with the shares of 151 companies falling in value, while the shares of 4 companies rose by between 1.23 percent for Al-Muraqib Group shares and a slight increase of about 0.15 percent for Al-Babtain shares, and the shares of 6 companies remained unchanged, while the number of shares traded exceeded 326.7 million, distributed across more than 156,800 transactions.
\nAll 15 sectors of the Saudi stock market recently closed with significant declines, led by the insurance sector, which fell by 7.29 percent, followed by the transportation sector, down 6.41 percent; the diversified investment sector, down 5.3 percent; and the real estate development sector, down 4.82 percent; followed by the construction sector, which fell 4.47 percent, and the industrial investment companies sector, which fell 4.22 percent.
\nThe petrochemical sector also declined by 4.18 percent, followed by the media and publishing sector, which fell by 3.93 percent; then banking and financial services, down 3.26 percent; the cement sector, down 2.97 percent; and the agriculture and food industries sector, down 2.91 percent; followed by the hotels and tourism sector, down 2.39 percent; the retail sector, down 2.26 percent; and telecommunications and information technology, down 2.22 percent, while the energy and utilities sector saw the smallest decline at 1.50 percent.
