As part of the tips and guidelines released by the National Campaign for Thermal Insulation in Buildings (\u201cThe Difference Is Clear\u201d), organized by the Saudi Energy Efficiency Center at King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology, they stated: Thermal insulation materials have varying levels of fire resistance; with some, such as rock wool, glass wool, and perlite, resisting high temperatures, while others, such as polystyrene and polyurethane, melt, burn, or emit smoke at certain temperatures. They also emphasized that the use of mechanical air conditioning systems contributes to the emission of environmentally harmful gases, such as carbon dioxide and nitrogen oxides, which result from the combustion of energy required to operate air conditioning units, which can be significantly reduced through the use of thermal insulation.<\/p>\n
They highlighted the importance of thermal insulation in buildings, noting that it is a key factor in extending a building\u2019s structural lifespan and preventing continuous thermal stress. As part of the recommendations and advice issued by the campaign, they said, \u00abThermal insulation protects building materials from external weather changes caused by significant temperature fluctuations throughout the day, which lead to continuous thermal stress on building materials and result in cracks and fissures.\u00bb They added that thermal insulation plays an important role in protecting the furniture inside the building, as uninsulated buildings are quickly and directly affected by outdoor temperatures, causing the indoor temperature to fluctuate, which in turn affects the furniture materials and causes them to deteriorate if proper air conditioning is not available.
