The Minister of Energy, Industry, and Mineral Resources, Engineer Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih, emphasized that the efforts made by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince \u2014may God protect them both\u2014to support the Kingdom\u2019s development and continue to strengthen the national economy in line with Vision 2030 are a source of pride and appreciation for all citizens and a source of admiration for the entire world.<\/p>\n

Development of Domestic Industry and Logistics<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Minister Al-Falih added that the Kingdom\u2019s strategic direction\u2014as embodied in the National Industrialization and Logistics Development Program, one of the most important programs for implementing the Kingdom\u2019s Vision 2030\u2014paves the way, with the launch of this industrial complex\u2019s projects, for a new phase of sustainable development, economic prosperity, and diversification of income sources by laying the groundwork for creating high-quality investment opportunities in the mining sector and mining industries specifically, a sector that the Kingdom is working to make the third pillar of the Saudi economy, alongside the oil and petrochemical industries,\u201c noting that \u201dWaad Al-Shamal\u201d will also serve as a key springboard for promoting the economic and social renaissance of the Northern Border Region.<\/p>\n

Al-Falih explained that supporting the mining, industrial, energy, and logistics sectors\u2014the four main sectors of the National Industry and Logistics Development Program\u2014through integrated economic development projects, and balanced development spending, embodies the wise leadership\u2019s\u2014may God preserve them\u2014commitment to the citizen, who is the focal point of development. He noted that \u201cWa\u2019ad Al-Shamal Industrial City\u201d will be\u2014God willing\u2014a cornerstone of the national economy\u2019s resilience, ensuring the achievement of the desired development goals.<\/p>\n

Launch of \u201cWa\u2019ad al-Shamal\u201d<\/h3>\n

He noted that the launch of \u201cWa\u2019ad al-Shamal\u201d reflects the wise policies and ambitious initiatives and programs stemming from Vision 2030<\/a>The city is implementing the National Industry and Logistics Development Program strategy by empowering the logistics, energy, mining, and manufacturing sectors to achieve the maximum economic impact expected from them. The program aims to contribute 1.2 trillion riyals to GDP and create 1.6 million jobs, in addition to attracting investments estimated at 1.6 trillion riyals by 2030.<\/p>\n

He emphasized that the completion of this project demonstrates that the wise government is determined to promote comprehensive and sustainable development across all regions of the Kingdom, starting with the least developed areas, and to develop economic sectors that contribute to the creation of job opportunities, while supporting them with educational and training programs.<\/p>\n

An Environment Attractive to Manufacturing Investments<\/h3>\n

It is worth noting that the Waad Al-Shamal Industrial City is located 15 kilometers from the city of Turaif in the Northern Border Region,<\/p>\n

The city of Wa'ad al-Shamal includes the necessary infrastructure for industry and social facilities,<\/p>\n

To attract other manufacturing investments,<\/p>\n

A plot of land measuring 290 km\u00b2 has been set aside for the construction of the city,<\/p>\n

In addition, a 150 km\u00b2 plot of land adjacent to that city has been allocated for the Ma'aden Phosphate Industries project, which serves as the city\u2019s main hub, as well as for its future projects.<\/p>\n

Once the second phase of the city is completed, the Kingdom's production will rise to nine million metric tons per year.<\/p>\n
