\n\nThe Saudi-Russian CEO Forum concluded its activities yesterday with the signing of 17 memorandums of understanding between a number of Saudi and Russian entities in a number of different sectors, in conjunction with the official visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to the Kingdom, organized by the Saudi Center for International Strategic Partnerships in cooperation with the General Investment Authority, the Russian Direct Investment Fund and the Saudi Public Investment Fund, with the participation of the Ministries of Energy, Trade and Investment, Environment, Water and Agriculture, and their counterparts from the Russian side, in addition to the participation of government and private entities from both sides. 400 participants from the Saudi and Russian sides<\/h3>\nThe forum, which was attended by more than 400 representatives from Saudi and Russian governmental and private organizations and business leaders from the two countries, discussed a number of vital topics, including the future of energy, solutions for its sustainability, existing and upcoming investments between the two countries, opportunities for joint cooperation, as well as agricultural sustainability and global food security.\nPrince Abdulaziz bin Salman, Minister of Energy and Chairman of the Saudi-Russian Joint Committee, emphasized the importance of Saudi-Russian relations and the common interests between them, and the desire to enhance this cooperation by the leaderships of the two countries, which culminated in mutual visits between the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Russian President Vladimir Putin.\n

Expanding cooperation in development and economic sectors<\/h3>\nHe explained that the two countries are working to harmonize strategic ambitions and goals, which are based on the Kingdom's Vision 2030 and Russia's strategic development plans, and to expand cooperation to extend from the energy sector, which represents a great weight in these relations to various developmental, economic and financial sectors. Through the Saudi-Russian committee, the two countries\u201c partnership focuses on the oil industry, other energy sectors, scientific research, aerospace, health services, tax administration, mineral wealth, tourism, the airline industry, cultural cooperation, strengthening trade relations in the diplomatic framework, and others.\nIn a session on agricultural sustainability and food security, Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture Abdulrahman Al-Fadhli revealed that there are promising opportunities for Saudi-Russian partnership in the field of agriculture and food security, especially since the Kingdom enjoys a distinctive geographical location, linking it to several continents, pointing out that the two countries have the ingredients for success in this field.\n

Building future partnerships and agreements<\/h3>\nKirill Dmitriev, CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, said that the unprecedented visit of the high-level Russian delegation to the Kingdom comes within the framework of the Russian President's visit to discuss the most important global and common issues between the two countries, noting that the two parties are discussing prospects for cooperation in the energy sector and bilateral investments in a number of diverse projects between technology and food security. Dmitriev noted the importance of such events in building future partnerships and agreements between the Kingdom and Russia, adding that cooperation and dialogue between the two countries will multiply according to the forum, as the Russian Direct Investment Fund is keen to strengthen these relations.\n

17 MoUs in various sectors<\/h3>\nThe forum witnessed the signing of 17 memorandums of understanding between a number of Saudi and Russian entities, which included a number of targeted sectors, such as technology, petrochemicals, transportation, logistics, energy, financial services, and aerospace, including a number of Russian entities such as the Russian Direct Investment Fund, Shellpipe, Energomira, Gazprom Oil, Chelyabinsk, Russian Railways, Isolighter, Moscow University of International Relations, and the Russian Institute of Energy and Finance, in addition to Chelyabinsk, Russian Railways, Isolighter, Moscow University of International Relations, and the Russian Institute of Energy and Finance.\n

291 foreign investment licenses issued<\/h3>\nDuring the forum, SAGIA handed over four investment licenses to Contact Saudi Contracting Company, B Group Saudi Arabia, Saudi Russian Management Consulting Company and Geopulsar, where the activities of these companies vary in construction and real estate development, information and communication technology, financial consulting, and architecture.\nIt is noteworthy that these investments come in the context of a series of wide-ranging economic reforms implemented by the Kingdom to attract quality investments to the Saudi market. The General Investment Authority recently announced the issuance of 291 foreign investment licenses during the second quarter of 2019, more than double compared to the same period in 2018, and an increase of 103 percent, compared to the first quarter of 2019, with an average of five foreign investment licenses issued daily.\nThese reforms have been internationally recognized, with the Kingdom moving up three places to 36th globally in the Global Competitiveness Report issued by the World Economic Forum, confirming the Kingdom's continuous endeavor towards achieving greater success for a sustainable national economy.\n\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
