It is based on investing the energies and capabilities of young people under an ambitious leadership characterized by sincere determination and strong will. His Excellency the Minister of Information, Mr. Turki Al-Shababah, stated that the role of media in the growth of the knowledge economy and pushing its wheel is a pivotal and major role, due to the importance of the media in creating knowledge content that keeps pace with the developments of the times and the interests of new societies, and that the media itself is a pioneering, unique, renewable and fast-growing industry, which resulted in the huge investments in the field of media, and the search of major media organizations for new solutions and technologies.<\/p>\n
\u201cToday, we need to understand the media shifts in the world and the technological trends that will contribute to changing the media system and industry, and influence the pattern and behavior of the recipient and the extent of his interaction with the media in the future,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cDeveloping media content is a real challenge in light of the changing characteristics of media users, most of whom will be members of the digital generation who have little loyalty to traditional media and traditional content. With the multiplicity and diversity of publishing platforms and the increased competition for users, media content will not be the same as the current content and will require the production of vibrant media stories, equipped with visual and multimedia elements that are able to attract the user and keep him\/her interested for as long as possible on the media platform,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
For his part, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Aspar International Forum, Dr. Fahad Al-Orabi Al-Harthi, explained in his speech that this is the fourth consecutive session of the Forum, with scientific and strategic partners from inside and outside the Kingdom, and increasing every year until their number reached today to 15 strategic and scientific partners, who represent the backbone of strength and the center of gravity, in the march of the Forum, including the University of W\u00fcrzburg in Germany joining the list of partners this year.<\/p>\n
He said: \u201cI am pleased on this occasion to note the completion and achievement of what the Forum announced last year, which is the publication of the first Arabic dictionary of basic terms for future studies, which is the first product of the Future Institute, which the Forum announced the establishment of in the last session as well, and the Forum's program will include a special session to discuss this publication. He pointed out that the Forum will hold a special session to discuss another Forum publication, also for the first time in the Arabic language, the book \u201dMcQuail's Theory of Mass Communication\u201d, in line with our partnership in this session with the esteemed Saudi Ministry of Information and the session we dedicated to discussing \u201cMedia in the Future\u201d.<\/p>\n
The media in this session is one of the sectors that will revolve around the discussions in the Forum's sessions, which everyone knows that they are organized in one context, which is the context of \u201cthe future\u201d in terms of its opportunities and challenges, and this is what makes the Forum's activities and events since its inception consistent with its mission and objectives, the foremost of which is to engage in the path of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which made the future a beacon and leader of all its goals,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

The fourth edition of the Aspar International Forum will run until November 6, where the forum will discuss about 40 working papers in 14 sessions, with more than 100 speakers, addressing three main themes: Demand, Innovation, Policies, Organizations, Knowledge and Transformation to a Knowledge Society, in addition to six workshops that address healthcare in the Kingdom in the future, cybersecurity and cybercrime, strategic institutionalization and total transformation of leadership, public diplomacy of the Kingdom, and sustainable development.<\/p>\n
