During his speech, Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Al-Khorayef revealed that the ministry is studying solutions with the competent authorities to recover 700 million riyals lost to factories due to non-exemption due to bureaucratic and non-substantive procedures. In this context, he emphasized that they have talked and met with the Export Authority regarding these amounts, as if these amounts are returned to the industrial sector, it will benefit it.<\/p>\n
Al-Khorayef called on the industrial sector to find alternatives through localization or reconsider the composition of the factory sector: The biggest challenge facing industry in the Kingdom is profitability, as the industrial sector is a form of investment in the country and competes with the real estate, service and commercial sectors.<\/p>\n
Al-Khorayef emphasized the state's keenness to address the challenges facing industrialists, referring to the decision to exempt labor from fees and material compensation, which was obtained by all factories that completed the conditions, pointing out that there are two things that have been controlled: The transfer of sponsorship in order not to misuse the decision and some benefits for other purposes, in addition to the inventory of factories that use workers from operating companies and the appropriate mechanism has been found to deal with them, and on the prices of energy and hydrocarbons, Al-Khorayef indicated that it was agreed with government agencies that this issue will be handled by the \u201cGovernance Committee\u201d and this is the right direction, because there is a directive from the ministry to reduce prices, and we expect a decision in this regard to be issued soon.<\/p>\n
\u201dWe have been given an opportunity to create a ministry that represents the sector, and the ministry must work through dynamism and institutionalization,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cOne of the most important challenges is how to protect our markets from inferior products and unfair competition, and this of course takes time, but we have started working towards this,\u201d he said, adding that the Export Bank is currently working on receiving applications and will be operational soon.<\/p>\n
Al-Khorayef emphasized that the nature of the industrial sector and its experiences extend to the different regions of the Kingdom, and that securing the experience of the Industrialists Council is carried out on the different regions of the Kingdom, indicating that the Ministry will provide support for the Industrial Council and its continuity and that the private sector will be able to manage this council in the coming years.<\/p>\n
For his part, Ajlan Al-Ajlan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Riyadh Chamber, emphasized during his speech that the industrial sector enjoys the attention of the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, and that one aspect of this attention is the \u201cVision 2030\u201d given to industry and its role in restructuring the national economy and diversifying sources of income, noting that the establishment of the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources is evidence of this interest.
