14 billion riyals for a program to stimulate construction technologies<\/h4>\n

Majed Alhakil revealed that the program to stimulate construction technologies has been allocated a budget of 14 billion riyals and will support Saudi factories to adopt modern construction technologies. Alhakil explained that construction technologies in Saudi Arabia are still in the first generation, while most countries in the world have reached the third generation of construction technologies, noting that 65 projects are pumping 125,000 housing units in the ministry's projects in partnership with the private sector using various modern construction technologies, which helped speed up completion.<\/p>\n

The \u00abBuilding Technology Stimulation Initiative\u00bb aims to develop smart housing units with sustainable solutions by addressing the gap in the demand for housing units at affordable prices by stimulating the adoption and localization of innovative construction technologies in the construction and real estate sector in the Kingdom, which leads to reducing the cost of constructing housing units and making them compatible with the purchasing power of the beneficiaries. The Ministry of Housing has since mid-2017 implemented about 7 modern construction technologies to implement its current projects that are carried out in partnership with the private sector.<\/p>\n

Adoption of 99 plans.. and 6 thousand in the owners' association<\/h4>\n

Hakil indicated that the ministry approved 99 plans in very short periods of time through the Developers Services Center \u00abEtam,\u00bb and sorted over 33 million square meters of real estate units. He also explained that the owners association system will soon be introduced to further regulate the relationship and enable families to own homes in areas with shared services such as residential compounds and apartment complexes. This approach helps to inject more diverse housing units.<\/p>\n

Hakil indicated that the ministry has trained more than 900 building inspectors who inspect buildings according to sustainable building standards, which are carried out by our daughters and sons, engineers. The program helps families verify and test the quality of construction, and so far 7,000 citizens have benefited from the service.<\/p>\n

1.8 billion riyals to support the infrastructure of projects<\/h4>\n

The Minister of Housing explained that 1.8 billion riyals of white land fees have been injected into infrastructure projects in the housing sector, such as electricity, water, and a number of basic services. 400 million square meters of white land have been billed in 4 cities.\u00a0 <\/span>Stressing that the program encourages real estate developers to develop. Regarding the rental program, the Minister explained that 400,000 contracts have been documented in rental agreements, which has encouraged the organization of the relationship between the landlord and the tenant.<\/p>\n

He added that the ministry focuses on stimulating the supply in the housing market, noting that 350,000 to 400,000 housing units enter the market annually, some for ownership and others for rental. He explained that there are three elements that ensure the efficiency of supply and demand: the speed of obtaining permits and the flexibility of regulations, in addition to the availability of development capabilities and access to financing.<\/p>\n

54 initiatives in the housing sector<\/h4>\n

Hakil indicated that the ministry was able to overcome the challenges facing the sector by creating a harmonious regulatory relationship between the needs of citizens, service providers, and government agencies, which helps speed up the service provided to citizens and meet their diverse needs.<\/p>\n

Hakili stated that there are 54 initiatives based on four main pillars, all of which work to increase the proportion of citizens\u2019 ownership of housing by supporting demand and supply, supporting legislation, and supporting the citizen. Thank God, we exceeded our target in 2019 and are moving forward in 2020 to achieve the goal of raising the proportion of ownership to 60% and increasing the proportion of citizens\u2019 satisfaction, providing regulatory programs, legislations, and programs, increasing the proportion of local content, and increasing the number of workers in the housing sector from both genders.<\/p>\n

Housing achievements in 2019 speak for themselves<\/h4>\n

Regarding the most prominent achievements in housing and financing, Hakil explained that the ministry has achieved many direct achievements on the ground, including:<\/p>\n

The service of 300 thousand families through the various housing programs exceeded the target of 2019, which was set at serving 200 thousand families.<\/p>\n

The number of families benefiting from mortgage support has increased from an average of 20,000 families to 165,000 families, indicating there is a suitable supply of residential units.<\/p>\n

Delivery of 90 thousand plots of land to allow citizens to start building their homes.<\/p>\n

14 thousand housing units were delivered to more than 285 charitable associations.<\/p>\n

106 thousand families settled in Her actual homes.<\/span><\/p>\n

Hakil emphasized that the ministry continues to work on managing the challenges in the housing sector by ensuring the readiness of infrastructure to deliver free land or project land, the capacity of the financing sector to accommodate a larger number in a short time, and providing diverse housing options with prices that align with citizens' purchasing power. All these challenges are aligned with the ministry's strategic goal of facilitating and enabling the family to obtain their first home; this is our most important priority.<\/p>\n
