Britain has announced $399 billion in loan guarantees, equivalent to 15% of its GDP, along with other measures to help affected businesses, in an intensification of efforts to combat the The economic consequences of the coronavirus.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

British Finance Minister Rishi\nSonak said he is willing to increase the size of loan guarantees to ensure that liquidity reaches all\nbusinesses that need it as activity slows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other measures announced include\nSuspending mortgage payments for three months for individuals in hardship and extending\nproperty tax suspension for small businesses to include all hospitality and leisure businesses\nand entertainment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They will also receive a cash grant and the government will consider a subsidy package for airlines and airports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
