The growth rate is 150%"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Banks and finance companies have achieved yet another success in their financing services; the number of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spa.gov.sa\/search.php?lang=ar&amp;search=%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%AA%D9%85%D9%88%D9%8A%D9%84%20%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B9%D9%82%D8%A7%D8%B1%D9%8A%20%D9%8A%D9%88%D8%A7%D8%B5%D9%84\">Housing Finance Contracts<\/a> New retail mortgage contracts in January and February 2020 totaled approximately 48,307, with a value of nearly 20,8 billion provided by all real estate lenders, representing a 150% increase in the number of loans and approximately 121% in financing compared to the same period in 2019, which recorded 19,314 contracts worth 9.4 billion during January and February 2019. (Residential Financing)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">24,639 contracts in February worth 10.7\nbillion<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The institution noted that the volume of contracts issued during January and February\nof this year is equivalent to that issued during the first four months of 2019, which totaled 45,860 contracts\nworth 21.3 billion riyals. The Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority\n\u00abSAMA\u00bb in its monthly bulletin that new mortgage contracts for individuals recorded growth of approximately\n153% in February 2020, with 24,639 contracts, compared to approximately 9,736 contracts in February 2019,\nwhile the volume of financing increased by 132% to 10.7 billion riyals compared to the same month in\n2019, which recorded approximately 4,621 billion riyals. February\u2019s housing loans also rose\n6% compared to the previous month, January 2020, during which the volume of financing reached approximately 10.1 billion\nriyals, and the number of contracts grew by 4% compared to the previous month, which saw the signing of approximately 23,668\ncontracts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Banks Complete 96% of Contract Value<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The bulletin noted that\n96% of the total value of these contracts was financed through commercial banks, while 4% was financed through\nmortgage finance companies. In February, residential villas accounted for the\nof the financing at 8,621 billion riyals, or approximately 80% of the total financing provided\nby banks and finance companies, while residential apartments ranked second at about 14%\n, valued at 1,454 billion riyals, while financing for the purchase of residential land came in third\nat 6%, valued at 626 million riyals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">21,848\nContracts from the Ministry of Housing and the Fund<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The\nreport indicated that the number of contracts for subsidized housing\nunder the programs of the Ministry of Housing and the Real Estate Development Fund in February 2020 reached\napproximately 21,848\ncontracts with a total value of 9.44 billion riyals, accounting for approximately 89% of\nthe total number of contracts concluded through banks and finance companies, and about 88% of\ntotal financing during February 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is worth noting that the institution\u2019s official statistics showed that the number of residential mortgages for individuals grew at historic rates during 2019, exceeding 3.5 times the previous figure, with approximately 179,217 contracts worth 79,128 billion, whereas financing loans at the end of 2018 totaled approximately 50,496 contracts with a total value of nearly 29.503 billion riyals, In 2017, there were approximately 30,833 contracts worth 21,025 billion riyals, while 2016 saw the signing of about 22,259 financing contracts worth 17,096 billion riyals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Related topics.
