The Ministry of Interior issued a package of Precautionary measures<\/a> and measures \u00abProtocols<\/a>\u00bbIn conjunction with allowing employees and workers to return to their workplaces until life gradually returns to normal in the Kingdom, to be effective during the period between Shawwal 8, 1441 AH corresponding to May 31, 2020, to Shawwal 28, 1441 AH corresponding to June 20, 2020, and below we provide the most important details of the protocol for the contracting sector. .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Entering the site<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

- Do not allow workers whose temperature exceeds (38 degrees Celsius) to enter the work site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

- Building operators and site managers should require maintenance staff to follow precautions to prevent infection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

- Appoint a \u201cprotocol manager\u201d or reconfigure a security team at building entrances if possible to conduct checks on workers, including in residential buildings. In commercial buildings, a specialized team should be assigned to conduct checks (assessment) on workers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

- Reconfigure security teams at building entrances to conduct effective worker checks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

- Designate a single entrance for workers to enhance supervision and facilitate screening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

- The landlord or tenant should not allow workers to start working without face masks if there is no security team in the building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

- Building operators should inform workers prior to their arrival of the screening procedures and policies for entering the facility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

- Agree on the delivery protocol with suppliers and transportation companies; and ensure that they are informed before arriving at residential buildings about the inspection and safety and prevention measures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Field precautionary measures for<\/strong> Construction companies<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

- Ensure that there is proper ventilation in closed construction and maintenance sites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

- Overnight stays at construction and maintenance sites are not allowed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

- Lunch breaks are spent indoors and staggered among workers, with enclosed dining rooms open only in extremely hot weather.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Common areas<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

- Conduct regular check-ups for workers on site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

- Limit the number of people allowed to use the elevators at the same time to avoid overcrowding (one person per 4 m maximum of the elevator's interior space).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

- It is recommended to check the good operating condition of the ventilation systems and perform routine maintenance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

- Cleaning and disinfecting the workplace after maintenance work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

- Assign workers to clean frequently touched surfaces in common areas and make sure they are disinfected on a regular basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

- Allocate restrooms at worker sites to avoid crowding in non-residential buildings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

- Prevent construction workers from accessing exposed areas in residential buildings such as parking lots, swimming pools, gyms, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Accommodation of workers<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

- Perform a daily temperature check when entering or leaving the residence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

- Prevent all unauthorized visitors from entering the workers' residence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

- Prohibit the sharing of cutlery or other everyday items.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Location<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

- Workers with a temperature above [38 degrees Celsius] are not allowed to enter the site<\/p>\n\n\n\n

- Work from home for employees at risk of injury.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

- Prohibit the transportation of potentially infected individuals with other passengers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

- All employees must wear cloth face masks at all times while working on construction projects. .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

- Block all non-essential personnel from accessing the site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

- Rearrange the worksite to minimize congestion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

- All queue locations are clearly marked and demarcated to maintain distancing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

- Designate isolation areas for exposed workers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
