During these inspections, more than 1,000 direct complaints were addressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nahar bin Hassan Al Sheikh, General Supervisor of Real Estate Regulation at the Ministry of Housing, confirmed that the work of the supervision and inspection teams during the lockdown focused on raising awareness, with the teams making more than 8,000 calls <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ejar.sa\/\">Awareness Campaign with Real Estate Brokers<\/a>... This included clarifying the key obligations of real estate brokers and the mechanism for notarizing contracts remotely, without the need for the landlord and tenant to visit the brokers\u2019 offices, in accordance with precautionary measures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Al-Sheikh explained that these field visits stem from a commitment to strengthening regulation in the real estate sector and making it more reliable and efficient by enforcing regulations on the ground, and cracking down on establishments that violate the regulations governing real estate offices, in an effort to raise awareness among citizens and real estate brokers regarding real estate transactions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He noted that penalties for violators are imposed in accordance with the provisions of Article 7 of the Real Estate Agencies Regulation and range from monetary fines to the closure of the real estate agency or permanent revocation of its license, noting that this is intended to raise the level of efficiency in the real estate sector by training relevant parties, raising awareness, enforcing regulatory provisions, and streamlining the operations of
