The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has swept the world with a wave of optimism, reassuring the peoples of the earth that they can overcome current challenges and seize the opportunities of the 21st century for all, by empowering people, preserving the planet, and shaping new horizons, according to the final statement issued by the leaders G20 Summit<\/a> which was held in Riyadh last week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the Leaders\u2019 Summit, which the world followed through the media, the Kingdom set precise benchmarks for human happiness and well-being as it chaired the 15th session of the summit, The good news came in the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques\u2019 opening address: support for the economies of developing countries through the injection of more than eleven trillion dollars to support individuals and businesses, Social safety nets were also expanded to protect groups vulnerable to losing their jobs and sources of income. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The \u00abLeaders of the Earth\u00bb Summit did not focus on its own specific issues, but rather cast a caring and compassionate gaze across the globe amid the critical circumstances brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, The G20 provided emergency support to developing countries based on estimates from the International Labor Organization, and its efforts to temporarily expand social protection measures helped support the livelihoods of approximately 645 million people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Riyadh Summit<\/a> Debt Deferral<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The summit concluded by addressing the wounds of chronic crises through its commitment to implementing the debt service suspension initiative, including its extension through June 2021, with 46 countries applying to benefit from the debt service suspension initiative, for a total of approximately $5.7 billion.
