The General Authority for Competition (GAC) has published today a guide for Mergers and Acquisitions Examination, which contains a number of clarifications to help visualize the reporting criteria for economic concentrations, raise the level of transparency and enable organizations and individuals to follow the best ways in understanding and applying the Competition Law issued by the Royal Decree and its executive regulations issued by the decision of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Competition.
H.E. Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Zoum explained that the Mergers and Acquisitions Examination Guide aims to raise the level of transparency and provide guidance to contribute to providing a competitive business environment that attracts investments, enhancing the availability of goods with high quality and diverse prices, and stimulating innovation and development to support economic growth, indicating that the guide contributes to helping stakeholders, including companies, government agencies, legal professionals, legal advisors and the general public, to understand competition rules in examining and evaluating M&A transactions.
