The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture (MoEWA) has given the owners of non-potable well water tanks a one-year deadline to correct their situation according to the \u201cRequirements and requirements for licensing non-potable well water tanks, classification of violations and corresponding penalties\u201d approved by the ministry, with the Ministry's Water Agency in charge of regulating these tanks.
The requirements, which come into effect on the third of Muharram 1444 AH, stressed that the activity of selling water should not start until the final license is obtained from the ministry, noting that drilling a well for this purpose can be licensed in areas of the Arabian Shield and layers that are not reliable as sources of drinking water, while drilling wells or establishing non-potable waterfalls on formations that are reliable as sources of drinking water is not allowed.
The requirements focused on ensuring that the sale of water from these tattoos does not affect neighboring wells, while determining the appropriate distance between the tattoos, which is determined by the hydrological study approved by the competent department in the ministry, in addition to preventing the filling of tanks that are not intended to transport water from wells that are not suitable for drinking.
The Ministry confirmed the right of civil defense centers to use the water sources in these waterfalls in accordance with the regulations issued by the Ministry, and the sheep are obligated to provide service and direct cooperation in cases of emergencies, disasters or crises as decided by the competent authorities.
The decree obliges the employees to maintain entry records that include tanker license numbers, license plate numbers, dates and times of entry, tank capacity, and drivers' data.
The ministry indicated that it is not responsible for any expenses, costs, losses or damages of any kind as a result of not granting the initial permit or the final license.
The decision outlines three stages of licensing procedures and requirements. The first stage explains how to submit the application, the second stage includes the steps to approve the water source, and the third stage explains the license for the sheep.
The licensing requirements and requirements for these waterfalls include the requirements for the construction of the waterfall and its facilities, the specifications and characteristics of the water and its monitoring, licenses for water transportation (tankers), the documents required for the issuance and renewal of tanker licenses and their specifications, the classification of non-potable well water well violations and the corresponding penalties.
