The Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing revealed the details of the new contractor classification system after its approval by the \u201cCouncil of Ministers\u201d, which aims to enhance competitiveness in the implementation of projects.
For his part, Majid Al-Hogail, Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, said: \u201cI extend my thanks to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Highness the Crown Prince on the occasion of the Cabinet's approval of the Contractor Classification System, which is based on a balanced evaluation that combines quantitative and qualitative criteria, to enhance competition among contractors and give new contractors with outstanding competencies greater opportunities.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ministry explained that the new contractor rating system is based on technical evaluation, which includes: \u201cthe technical specialties of the facility's employees according to the sector, and the years of experience of the facility's cadres.\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMunicipal Affairs\u201d added: The technical assessment includes: \u201cThe level of wages for workers, the percentage of Emiratization, and the percentage of Saudi women working in the establishment.\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The credit rating is based on \u201cadministrative governance, risk management, sources of income, fixed and variable assets of the organization, and the publication of periodic performance reports.\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the ministry, the new classification system targets seven sectors: \u201cconstruction and building, operation, maintenance and services, communications and information technology, real estate development, exhibitions and conferences, engineering consultancy, and food and catering.\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
