Architect and interior decorator Jane O'Connor, of Reba, says eco-friendly home remodeling doesn't have to compromise on the modern elegance of a home's interior.

For a modern and eco-friendly interior, Jane recommends buying new furniture that is sustainable, so she recommends buying sturdy and durable furniture and decor pieces that can last for years to come. You can also buy furniture that can be updated and repaired. If you get bored with your furniture after years of buying it, you can reupholster it or add new cushions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bathroom and kitchen decor<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Bathrooms and kitchens are usually the biggest expenses in a home. But it's not just about aesthetics, it's important to have modern designs, the right lighting, and a relaxing atmosphere. According to Jane, periodic updates to simple things in the bathroom and kitchen such as new handles, repainting or replacing door fronts can make a difference in the decor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Selling old furniture for recycling<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Sell old doors, handles, light fixtures, and excess building materials, and use the money to buy new furniture, as this will save you from throwing away these items that may turn into waste and harm the environment. Rely on natural light as much as possible<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n
