The Ministry of Transportation and Logistics continues to work on completing the Al-Khurma \u2013 Rania \u2013 Bisha project, which is being built with two lanes in each direction and has a total length of 360 kilometers, of which 233 kilometers have already been completed.
The project consists of nine different phases, the first and second of which have been completed, with the remaining phases\u2014totaling 127 kilometers in length\u2014to be completed sequentially.
This project, which is part of efforts to improve the quality of the Kingdom\u2019s road infrastructure in accordance with international standards, aims to connect the Makkah region with the Asir region via a dual-lane highway that will help improve safety, and reduce the rate of traffic accidents on this vital route.
The project\u2019s completion rate for the first and second phases reached 100%, while the third phase reached 88%, the fourth phase reached 96%, and the fifth phase reached 91%. 56% of the sixth phase has been completed, while the completion rate for the seventh phase is 31%; the eighth phase stands at 34%, and the completion rate for the ninth phase is 33%.
It is worth noting that the project is part of efforts to improve traffic safety on all roads in the Kingdom, improving the quality of its infrastructure, and enhancing the quality of life. The Ministry of Transport and Logistics reaffirms its commitment to implementing its development projects aimed at serving the region, It also reaffirms its commitment to continuing to complete all its projects in accordance with the established operational plans, and to spare no effort in improving infrastructure to enhance the quality of road projects in various regions, thereby elevating the Kingdom\u2019s transportation system to meet the aspirations of Vision 2030.
