Trading of Saudi Group and Petrochem shares is suspended at the request of the two companies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tadawul announced the suspension of trading in the shares of the Saudi Industrial Investment Group and the National Petrochemical Company on the market effective today, Monday, September 27, 2021, for a single trading session, at their request in accordance with the provisions of the listing rules and procedures for suspending trading in listed securities, in preparation for the announcement of a material event.<br \/><br \/>\u201cTadawul\u201d said that trading in the two stocks will resume starting Tuesday, September 28, 2021.<br \/><br \/>According to data available on \u201cArqam,\u201d \u201cSaudi Group\u201d owns 50% of \u201cPetrochem\u2019s\u201d capital. <br \/><br \/><br \/>In September 2020, the two companies announced that their respective boards of directors had approved the initiation of preliminary discussions to assess the economic feasibility of merging their operations.<br \/><br \/><br \/>Last April, the two companies announced the completion of a preliminary economic feasibility study for the merger.
