His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Khalid Al Faisal, Chief Executive Officer of Investment Systems and Policies at the General Investment Authority, announced the identification of individual investment opportunities worth $140 billion in the transportation and healthcare sectors, which will be launched as part of the Unified Investment Plan next May.<\/p>\n
His Highness made these remarks during his speech at the fifth annual Investment Forum held in Dubai, which kicked off yesterday, Tuesday, under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the United Arab Emirates, and will continue until tomorrow, April 1,<\/p>\n
A Call for Collaboration and Joint Investment<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n At the forum, His Highness called on the countries of the region to cooperate and work together during this critical period for investment in the region, and urged the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries to leverage their significant and important investment achievements as a platform to stimulate and support investment in the region both now and in the future.<\/p>\n He said, \u201cThe Arab Gulf states have succeeded in making their distinctive mark on the global stage in various fields over the past few decades, and today we must work and make every necessary effort to transform our countries into the world\u2019s premier investment destinations.\u201d.<\/p>\n Measures to Stimulate Investment<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n His Highness discussed the Kingdom\u2019s efforts, both domestically and internationally, to promote the diversification of the economy\u2014which is the largest in the region\u2014and to enhance the Kingdom\u2019s attractiveness and competitiveness as a destination for foreign direct investment, through several incentive measures, such as the opening of the Saudi Stock Exchange, the launch of massive public investments in infrastructure and human capital, and the implementation of comprehensive reforms to the investment environment within the Kingdom through the launch of the Unified Investment Plan.<\/p>\n He noted that the plan will enable investors to benefit from the Saudi government\u2019s significant commitment to spending on key sectors, and will help build long-term partnerships that benefit investors and add significant value to the Saudi economy.<\/p>\n Investment opportunities worth $140 billion<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n His Highness Prince Saud bin Khalid reviewed the key investment sectors to which the Kingdom\u2019s government is giving priority, including transportation, healthcare, and industrial equipment.
