The Supervisory Committee of the National Program for Exhibitions and Conferences has directed to facilitate procedures for organizers of consumer goods exhibitions, and work to raise their capabilities, develop their performance and follow-up. The number of consumer goods exhibitions that will be organized annually is expected to grow to more than 150 exhibitions.<\/p>\n
In this direction, the National Program for Exhibitions and Conferences organized a workshop in Riyadh to introduce the policies and procedures for holding consumer goods exhibitions approved by the supervisory committee of the program, headed by HRH Prince Sultan bin Salman, Chairman of the General Authority for Tourism and Antiquities and Chairman of the Supervisory Committee of the National Program for Exhibitions and Conferences.<\/p>\n
A golden opportunity for investment<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n The Executive Director of the program, Engineer Tariq Al-Eisa, confirmed that the new policies and procedures for consumer goods exhibitions are a golden opportunity and a great incentive for investors to enter the exhibition sector, in addition to increasing the benefits that existing investors will reap, and creating thousands of new job opportunities for citizens. This type of exhibitions will also contribute to revitalizing local tourism and marketing promising regions in the Kingdom, and will lead to added value by opening new markets and job opportunities for an important segment of society by allocating 5% of the exhibition space to be given free of charge to productive families and artisans.<\/p>\n Effective ways to publicize national products<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n All policies and procedures governing consumer goods exhibitions were fully reviewed, defined and discussed with investors, businessmen and a large number of managers and officials of institutions and companies organizing consumer goods exhibitions.<\/p>\n In addition to discussing the opportunities and challenges that will face investors in establishing this type of exhibitions. The workshop, which was attended by a large number of managers and officials of institutions and companies organizing consumer goods exhibitions, Al-Eissa explained that consumer goods exhibitions are one of the types of exhibitions that the National Program works to organize and develop as one of the effective means of introducing national products and a tributary of the growth of tourism and the national economy, noting that the new policies and procedures for consumer goods exhibitions came after reviewing international experiences and practices and after an extensive study in which all participants participated.<\/p>\n Policies, Terms and Conditions<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n According to the new decision, which will replace the conditions and controls for holding shopping festivals, the policies for holding consumer goods exhibitions include a number of requirements, including:<\/p>\n The applicant must be one of the companies or institutions licensed to organize exhibitions.<\/p>\n The license application must be submitted at least 90 days prior to the exhibition.<\/p>\n The duration of the exhibition should not exceed (30) days.<\/p>\n The exhibition must be held only in exhibition halls, inside malls, halls inside hotels, and licensed social event halls.<\/p>\n It is allowed to hold the exhibition in a temporary facility in cities and governorates that
