The General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) released today the Labor Market Bulletin for the second quarter of 2022, which showed a decrease in the unemployment rate for total Saudis, reaching 9.7% for the second quarter of 2022, compared to 10.1% in the first quarter of 2022.<\/p>\n
The overall unemployment rate (for Saudis and non-Saudis) decreased to 5.8% compared to 6% in the first quarter of 2022, and the unemployment rate for Saudi women for the second quarter of 2022 decreased to 19.3% compared to 20.2% in the previous quarter.<\/p>\n
The unemployment rate for Saudi males for the second quarter of 2022 decreased to 4.71 TP3T compared to 5.11 TP3T in the previous quarter, the authority announced.<\/p>\n
The labor force indicators in the second quarter of 2022 showed an increase in the total labor force participation rate (for Saudis and non-Saudis) to 60.8% compared to 60.4% in the first quarter of 2022.<\/p>\n
The labor force participation rate for total Saudis for the second quarter of 2022 increased to 51.81 TP3T compared to 50.11 TP3T in the previous quarter.<\/p>\n
According to the results of the Labor Market Bulletin for the second quarter of 2022, the labor force participation rate for Saudi women for the second quarter of 2022 increased to 35.6% compared to 33.6% in the previous quarter.<\/p>\n
The labor force participation rate for Saudi males also increased for the second quarter of 2022, reaching 67.5% compared to 66% in the previous quarter.<\/p>\n
GASTAT indicated that the Labor Market Bulletin is based on a household survey conducted by GASTAT, which falls under the classification of (social statistics), in which information is collected through a representative sample of the population of various administrative regions in the Kingdom from households, and by completing an electronic form containing a number of questions.<\/p>\n
Through the survey, estimates and indicators related to the labor force are provided for the working-age population (15 years and above) residing in the Kingdom, estimating the population (inside and outside the labor force) as well as calculating the most important labor market indicators such as the unemployment rate and the labor force participation rate, among others.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
