Launched Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing<\/a><\/strong><\/span>On Tuesday, Majid Al-Haqeel announced the launch of the Saudi Cities Investment Portal (Forouz), noting that it has been approved by a royal decree to serve as a national platform where government entities can present their opportunities on the platform to investors.<\/p>\n

This came during the Opening of the Municipal Investment Forum<\/a><\/strong><\/span>The forum will take place at the Exhibition and Convention Center at the Riyadh Front, where more than 5,000 investment opportunities in various economic activities will be presented.<\/p>\n

Al-Haqeel said in his opening speech at the forum: \u201cThere are currently five government agencies that offer opportunities on the platform to investors in all transparency, and today we will launch the platform and it will be a qualitative leap for investment in Saudi cities.\u201d.<\/p>\n

The Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing added that the ministry aims to privatize 70% of its activities and is working on establishing 17 empowered companies similar to the National Housing Company.<\/p>\n

He went on to say: \u201cWe worked on establishing companies in each secretariat, and 3 companies were established a while ago and 7 companies were established in the last few period, and by the end of the year there will be 17 companies; they will not be in competition with the private sector but will be empowered companies that can partner with everyone faster, pointing to the National Housing Company that helped empower more than 200 developers.\u201d.<\/p>\n

Al-Haqeel explained that Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing<\/a><\/strong><\/span> Reduced the value of bank guarantees from 100% to 25% to help investors in development and construction.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe regulation has enabled us to improve the relationship with the investor,\u201d he said. We added public bidding and enabled investment in some lands.\".<\/p>\n

Al-Haqeel pointed out that the municipal sector works in accordance with the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, with the support of the Crown Prince to improve the investment system, indicating that municipal investments contribute to five programs to achieve the vision, including the privatization program, quality of life, housing program, serving the pilgrims program, and financial sustainability program.<\/p>\n

The Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing emphasized that the ministry is working to encourage investment in the Kingdom, pointing out that the municipal sector represents 40% of services.<\/p>\n

The second edition of the Municipal Investment Forum<\/a><\/strong><\/span> \u00abOpportunities\u00bb at the Exhibition and Conference Center at Riyadh Front.
\nThe forum will feature more than 5,000 investment opportunities in various economic activities, in addition to discussion sessions with a number of leaders, specialists and experts. More than 200 specialized platforms have been provided to showcase emerging projects to investors participating in the forum.<\/p>\n
