The Kingdom unveiled its master plan For the Riyadh Expo 2030<\/a><\/strong><\/span>This took place during the official reception organized by the Royal Commission for Riyadh City in the French capital, Paris, on Monday, June 19, 2023, attended by representatives from 179 member countries of the Bureau International des Expositions, The plan aims to create an exceptional global experience in the history of Expo exhibitions. It also reflects the importance of Riyadh Expo 2030 and its positive role, and embodies the Expo\u2019s main theme: \u201cTogether We Envision the Future.\u201d.<\/p>\n

The exhibition will be held near King Salman International Airport\u2014which is currently under development \u2014making it easy for visitors arriving at the airport to reach the exhibition site in just a few minutes by using the \u201cRiyadh Metro\u201d network, which covers all parts of Riyadh, as well as the modern road network, which connects to one of the exhibition\u2019s three entrances.<\/p>\n

226 pavilions at Riyadh Expo 2030<\/span><\/h4>\n

The 226 exhibition pavilions were designed in the shape of a globe, with the equator running through the center; a visual concept that aligns with the exhibition\u2019s mission and vision of ensuring equal opportunities for all participants, while reflecting the city of Riyadh\u2019s rich architectural heritage, history, culture, and natural environment, as well as the Kingdom\u2019s shared concern with the rest of the world regarding the climate and the ambition to envision a future full of possibilities.<\/p>\n

The locations of the national pavilions at the exhibition will be determined flexibly based on each country\u2019s longitude, in an arrangement that brings together countries from the Northern and Southern Hemispheres side by side. This step essentially symbolizes the important role the Kingdom plays in facilitating cooperation among the nations of the world, thereby helping to streamline the visitor\u2019s experience, and ensuring that visitors can move easily and seamlessly over very short distances between the pavilions, public plazas, facilities dedicated to culture and innovation, and facilities providing food, rest, and waiting areas.<\/p>\n

Exhibit visitors will also enjoy strolling through fully shaded walkways featuring architectural designs inspired by Riyadh\u2019s history, as well as exploring a modern green oasis within one of the tributaries of \u201cWadi Al-Sali,\u201d which runs through the exhibition site, reflecting the commitment of the Kingdom and its capital, Riyadh, to preserving nature and developing it in a sustainable manner.<\/p>\n

In the same context, it will be held in the heart of the master plan For the Riyadh Expo 2030<\/a><\/strong><\/span>; A prominent landmark symbolizing \u201cresponsibility for protecting the planet,\u201d supported by 195 pillars representing the number of countries participating in the expo. This landmark is surrounded by three pavilions, each embodying the expo\u2019s subthemes: \u201cProsperity for All,\u201d \u201dClimate Action,\u201d and \u201dA Better Tomorrow.\u201d.<\/p>\n

Participatory Change Corner<\/span><\/h4>\n

The exhibition will also feature the \u201cC3 \u2013 Collaborative Change Corner,\u201d an area that will serve as a catalyst for innovation and creativity during the seven-year journey leading up to the launch of Riyadh Expo 2030 and beyond, with the aim of showcasing how the brightest minds can collaborate on scientific, social, and intellectual innovations, and accelerate the changes that will shape our future.<\/p>\n

Engineer Lamia bint Abdulaziz Al-Muhanna, a member of the Riyadh Expo 2030 Master Plan team, said in her presentation of the master plan to members of the Bureau International des Expositions: \u201cThe master plan will develop an Expo that offers visitors the most flexible experience in terms of navigating the site, and the most interactive, collaborative, and sustainable Expo ever. We will ensure an exceptional experience for Expo visitors, and we will work to enable full, balanced, and value-added participation for all participating countries, providing an unparalleled experience for more than 40 million visitors.\u201d.<\/p>\n

She added, \u201dIt draws inspiration from Riyadh Expo 2030<\/a> <\/strong><\/span>Its location combines natural, traditional, and modern features, as it is designed around a valley surrounded by a cluster of pavilions for each country, offering unlimited opportunities to all participating nations, The Expo\u2019s plan features a wide range of pavilions of various sizes and types, with a commitment to allocating one pavilion to each country. All participants will be able to achieve their priorities and develop pavilions that align with the Expo\u2019s main theme and its sub-themes, Opportunities for exploration will be limitless, allowing visitors to experience firsthand what it\u2019s like to travel to any country in the world and enjoy a diverse and continuous array of cultural and entertainment events. The Expo will feature international restaurants from around the world and live music performances.\u201d.<\/p>\n

Opportunities for Cultural and Professional Development\u00a0<\/span><\/h4>\n

Engineer Lamia Al-Mihna continued: \u201cThe exhibition will offer rich technical opportunities for cultural and professional development, and we plan to launch a collaborative lab at Expo 2025 Osaka that will continue to assist countries in addressing recurring challenges during the preparatory phase for Riyadh Expo 2030. and at the conclusion of the expo, we will assist 100 selected countries in repurposing their pavilions to serve schools, clinics, and research centers in their respective countries.\u201d.<\/p>\n

The First Eco-Friendly Exhibition\u00a0<\/span><\/h4>\n

For her part, Engineer Nouf bint Majid Al-Muneef, a member of the Riyadh Expo 2030 Master Plan team, said: \u201cOur goal in the Kingdom is to host the first environmentally friendly expo with net-zero carbon emissions; the Riyadh Expo 2030 site will be powered by clean energy derived from solar power, We are also working to develop high standards for resource efficiency and detailed strategies to promote biodiversity, eliminate food waste, and ensure green waste management and recycling.\u201d.<\/p>\n

She added: \u201cWe will enable and help finance and build diverse partnerships that advance the development phase and the exhibition\u2019s goals, based on the collaborative approach to change that we call the \u201dTriple Vision,\u2019 and we will fund and nurture these partnerships to build international projects starting in 2025.\u201d.<\/p>\n

It should be noted that the Kingdom has announced its goal of making Riyadh Expo 2030 the most sustainable and impactful Expo ever, in line with its climate commitments and achieving carbon neutrality to have a positive impact on the environment in the city of Riyadh\u2014a goal clearly reflected in the Expo\u2019s master plan, which presents concepts aligned with global sustainability standards, such as: urban greening, the use of treated water, and the provision of new energy sources.
