The King Abdulaziz Al Saud Foundation for Humanitarian Work implemented 1922 housing units covering several different regions and governorates in Madinah, Riyadh, Jeddah, Maqwa, Al-Ahsa, Al-Amal, Al-Nayef, Al-Liwa, Al-Ghazala, and Al-Samta. The board approved the meeting of the Foundation\u2019s Board of Trustees during its third meeting last night in Jeddah, chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Khaled bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, President of the Board of Trustees, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Mutab bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Vice President of the Board of Trustees, and His Royal Highness Princes of King Abdulaziz Al Saud \u2013 may Allah rest their souls in peace. The projects of the Foundation\u2019s second phase aim to build 700 housing units in Riyadh, Al-Qassim, Najran, Asir, Al-Hudaida, and the northern and Jubail regions.<\/p>\n
The Council also discussed the agenda of the meeting, which includes a message from the Foundation that King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud \u2013 may Allah have mercy on him \u2013 entrusted to the Board of Trustees, which aims to be a world-class humanitarian business institution to achieve noble and humanitarian goals and participate in humanitarian activities that serve the religion, the country, the Arab and Islamic Ummah, and the entire world, and to spread the values of tolerance, virtue, and peace through seven key pillars of the Foundation, which include: education and economic development, health care, the development of science and technology, social relief, interfaith dialogue, and the dissemination of peace and security.<\/p>\n
The initiatives of the foundation, such as the opening of the King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Mosque in the beginning of this month of Ramadan in Riyadh, which has a capacity of about 200 worshippers, as well as the project of iftar for the fasting month, and activating the role of the mosque by organizing Ramadan lectures and seminars, have also been discussed. The foundation also contributed to the restoration of the Shafi\u2019i Mosque, which dates back to 1400 years ago, in cooperation between the Tourism and Antiquities Authority, the Ministry of Islamic Affairs and Endowments, and the Jeddah Municipality.<\/p>\n
In addition, the Foundation has established a health project aimed at caring for kidney patients by allocating six centers distributed across the Kingdom, two of which are in Riyadh, in addition to a center in Mecca, Madinah, Madinah, Jeddah, and Hail. Similar centers will be established in other cities in the Kingdom with a total capacity of 920 dialysis chairs.<\/p>\n
The participants also referred to other humanitarian activities carried out by affiliated institutions such as the King Abdulaziz Public Library; the institution also contributed to supporting economic development in communities through funding projects initiated by local institutions such as the Bab Rizq Jameel project, in addition to the institution\u2019s cooperation with major global organizations to support the humanitarian projects carried out by the Islamic Development Bank in Asia and Africa, where there were eight projects in Somalia, Niger, Mali, Sierra Leone, Guinea, Liberia, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Yemen, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India; and in Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and the Rohingya Muslim minority in Burma.
