The field committee for following up on projects in the Al-Qassim region has identified 369 projects as being in limbo or in a state of partial completion in the region; these projects will be among the committee\u2019s top priorities to contribute to accelerating their implementation.<\/p>\n
For his part, Prince Faisal bin Mishaal bin Saud, the Amir of the Al-Qassim Region, said that the committee has established standards for regular, delayed, stalled, and suspended projects; it has determined that the delay rate for regular projects is 25 percent, the delayed rate is 50 percent, the stalled projects exceed 50 percent, and the suspended projects exceed 100 percent. He pointed out that the number of government projects in the region is 1,278 projects with a cost of more than 30 billion riyals, while the number of regular projects is 689 projects, accounting for 62 percent, the delayed projects are 217 projects, accounting for 17 percent, and the stalled projects are also 17 percent, while the semi-stalled projects are 166 projects, accounting for five percent.<\/p>\n
His Highness referred to the tasks and duties of the committee in monitoring and following up on the delayed and stalled projects in the region, identifying the reasons for the delays, proposing appropriate solutions, and developing a time-frame for their implementation, with the assistance of government agencies and contracting companies that are working to implement the projects,\u201d and emphasized that the committee is currently working on a list of priority projects in the region, in addition to identifying the ideal government departments that do not have any delayed or stalled projects.<\/p>\n
