The seventh session of the King Abdulaziz Conference Center in Riyadh began today Future Investment Initiative<\/a><\/strong>The conference, titled \u201cThe New Compass,\u201d will be attended by nearly 6,000 participants from more than 90 countries and 500 speakers from different sectors from inside and outside the Kingdom.<\/p>\n

At the beginning of the conference, Richard Attias, CEO of the Future Investment Initiative Foundation, welcomed the attendees and participants of the new session of the initiative, noting that the future of human values is a topic of profound importance, especially as the world stands on the threshold of a new era.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe world today is evolving at an unprecedented pace, and with it the same values that have guided our societies for centuries,\u201d he said, adding that the planet's challenges of climate change, global health crises and conflicts require a collective spirit of compassion to find solutions that benefit all.<\/p>\n

Richard Attias added: \u201cIt is important for everyone to strive to contribute to societies that embrace diversity in all its forms, while working on the full potential of human creativity and innovation, towards inclusiveness and tolerance.\u201d He emphasized the importance of pursuing knowledge and education that shapes the independent in an era of rapid technological advancement, and promoting a culture that encourages curiosity, critical thinking and peace.<\/p>\n

Emerging technologies<\/h2>\n

He pointed out that the world today must work at an accelerated pace, especially with regard to emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and genetic engineering, with the need to establish strong ethical frameworks that protect human rights, privacy and dignity, which will ensure the values of transparency and harness this technology for the benefit of all.<\/p>\n

\"The future of human values embraces compassion, inclusion, tolerance, knowledge, ethics, and peace,\" he said, noting the importance of recognizing shared responsibilities in caring for the planet, calling on everyone to uphold these values as the compass that guides towards a brighter, more equitable and sustainable future for all to impact humanity, which is what the FII Foundation seeks to achieve.<\/p>\n

Developing a new strategy<\/h3>\n

For his part, H.E. Mr. Yasser bin Othman Al-Rumayyan, Governor of the Public Investment Fund and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Future Investment Initiative Foundation, said during his speech at the opening of the initiative that reality reflects the importance of the theme of the Future Investment Initiative \u201cThe New Compass\u201d, noting the interactive process of developing a new strategy to understand the biggest challenges of this era, as well as the future that depends on the hope of humanity.<\/p>\n

He pointed out that the previous edition of the FII focused on the needs and requirements of individuals in different demographics, adding that the current edition talks about the future of investment and our most important priorities.<\/p>\n

Mr. Al-Rumayyan touched on the conditions witnessed by the world and the efforts made by all in stimulating the future of investment and stimulating economies and societies to create a stable and sustainable global system.<\/p>\n

Al-Rumayyan said: \u201dCentral banks have put in place monitoring and control policies to curb global inflation, and governments and private sector companies around the world are adapting to this new reality,\u201d he said, noting that companies cannot afford the same expenses and expenses as in the past, noting the importance of prioritizing companies to focus on innovation and technology.<\/p>\n

He drew attention to the tremendous developments in the technology sectors in a short period of time, the most important of these forces (artificial intelligence), which may increase global output by 14% and has the potential to create more inclusive societies and a sustainable model of development, indicating the importance of international cooperation to provide legislation and develop vital industries such as health, tourism, manufacturing, renewable energy, and public security.<\/p>\n

Artificial intelligence<\/h3>\n

He stated that AI is impacting global trade in multiple ways, predicting that 70% of businesses will be dealing with at least one type of AI technology by 2030.<\/p>\n

\u201dMany will benefit from AI in our daily lives if not now, and as business leaders we need to be pragmatic. As AI grows, so does our energy consumption. The computing power we need for machine learning and AI is huge and growing. For example, the daily energy consumption to support the ChatGPT program is estimated at 564 megawatts per hour, which matches the energy consumed by 26,000 American homes per year,\u201c he said.<\/p>\n

He discussed the benefits of using AI and its role in enabling the energy transition with available resources such as the projects Aramco is undertaking, including supporting the energy transition such as developing new fuels that reduce emissions in engines by more than 70% compared to conventional fuels.<\/p>\n

His Excellency expressed his pride that the Kingdom is leading a movement to find solutions in reducing emissions to address the world's biggest challenges, praising the robustness of the Saudi economy, which witnessed a growth of 8.7% in GDP in 2022, the highest among the G20 countries.<\/p>\n

He stated that the Public Investment Fund is witnessing a new era of economic growth and economic opportunities in accordance with Saudi Vision 2030, as it focused on 13 sectors to achieve diversification and new opportunities, and created 90 new companies in its investment portfolio and more than 560,000 jobs, with the aim of achieving a positive impact locally and globally.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
