Saudi Arabia won the bid to host Expo 2030<\/a><\/strong>... following the conclusion of the vote held by the General Assembly of the International Exhibitions Bureau yesterday evening, Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Saudi Arabia competed with South Korea and Italy to host the exhibition. By hosting Expo 2030 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia will present an exceptional edition\u2014unprecedented in the history of the exhibition\u2014that will help shape a better future for humanity.<\/p>\n

His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister\u2014may God protect him\u2014extended his congratulations to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud\u2014may God protect him\u2014on the occasion of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia\u2019s successful bid to host the EXPOExpo 2030 in Riyadh.<\/p>\n

This came after the Bureau International des Expositions announced today, Tuesday, that the Kingdom\u2019s bid had won the right to host the exhibition from October 2030 through March 2031. His Highness also expressed his gratitude to the countries that voted for the Kingdom\u2019s bid, as well as to the two competing countries.<\/p>\n

On this occasion, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince\u2014may God protect him\u2014said: \u201cThe Kingdom\u2019s success in winning the bid to host Expo 2030 reinforces its leading and pivotal role and the international trust it enjoys, making it an ideal destination for hosting major global events, of which Expo is one.\u201d.<\/p>\n

His Highness reaffirmed the Kingdom\u2019s determination to present an exceptional and unprecedented edition in the history of this global forum, one that embodies the highest levels of innovation, and to play an active and positive role in shaping a bright future for humanity by providing a global platform that harnesses the latest technologies and brings together the brightest minds, with the aim of making the most of opportunities and proposing solutions to the challenges facing our planet today.<\/p>\n

His Highness said: \u201cOur hosting of Expo 2030 will coincide with the year in which the goals and plans of Saudi Vision 2030 are realized; the expo is a wonderful opportunity for us to share with the world the lessons we have learned from this unprecedented journey of transformation.\u201d.<\/p>\n

His Royal Highness the Crown Prince affirmed that Riyadh is ready to welcome the world to Expo 2030\u2014God willing\u2014and to fulfill the commitments outlined in the bid to participating countries in order to realize the exhibition\u2019s main theme, \u201cAn Era of Change: Together We Envision the Future,\u201d and its sub-themes\u2014\u201cA Better Tomorrow,\u201d \u201cClimate Action,\u201d and \u201cProsperity for All\u201d\u2014by harnessing all available resources.<\/p>\n

Riyadh, the capital of a country with a strategic and important geographic location, serves as a vital bridge connecting continents, making it an attractive destination for major international forums, global investments, and visitors, as well as a gateway to the world.<\/p>\n

The Kingdom\u2019s bid to host Expo 2030 in Riyadh received significant and direct support from His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister\u2014may God protect him\u2014beginning with the Kingdom\u2019s announcement on October 29, 2021, that it had submitted an official application to the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) (the organizing body for the World Expo).<\/p>\n

It is worth noting that the International Exhibitions Bureau announced that the Kingdom\u2019s bid had won the right to host the event following a secret ballot during the Bureau\u2019s 173rd General Assembly meeting, in Paris today, where the Kingdom\u2019s bid received 119 votes from member states. Alongside Riyadh, two other cities competed to host the event: Busan, South Korea, and Rome, Italy.<\/p>\n

International Expos have been held since 1851 and serve as the world\u2019s largest platform for showcasing the latest achievements and technologies, promoting international cooperation in economic development, trade, the arts, and culture, and disseminating science and technology.<\/p>\n

It is worth noting that the Kingdom unveiled the master plan for the exhibition last June\u00a0Riyadh Expo 2030<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>Under the theme \u201cAn Era of Change: Together We Look to the Future,\u201d during the official reception organized by the Royal Commission for Riyadh City in Paris.<\/p>\n

If the bid is successful, the exhibition is scheduled to be held on a site covering more than 6 million square meters near King Salman International Airport \u2014which is currently under development\u2014making it easy for visitors arriving at the airport to reach the exhibition site in just a few minutes by using the Riyadh Metro, which covers all parts of the city, as well as the modern road network, which connects to one of the exhibition\u2019s three entrances.<\/p>\n
