earnings in 2022, affected by the decline in the earnings of major companies.<\/p>\n<p>The disclosures of listed cement companies in their statements on Tadawul showed that the combined profits of 13 listed companies decreased by 14.34% last year to 1.75 billion riyals, compared to 2.04 billion riyals in the previous year.<\/p>\n<p>Nine cement producers recorded a decline in net profits in 2023, compared to their profits in the previous year, while four companies witnessed an increase in profits.<\/p>\n<p>Saudi Cement led the way in terms of highest profits in 2023, with a net profit of SAR 381 million (representing 21.76% of total profits), compared to SAR 398.8 million in 2022, a decline of 4.46%.<\/p>\n<p>The company explained that the reason for the decrease in net profit is due to the increase in selling and distribution expenses, general and administrative expenses, financing expenses, a decrease in the company's share of the profits of an investment in an associate company, and an increase in Zakat expense.<\/p>\n<p>Yamama Cement came in second place, with a net profit of SAR 304.25 million for 2023, compared to SAR 355.8 million in 2022, a decline of 14.5%.<\/p>\n<p>Al Yamamah Cement attributed the decline in net profit in 2023 to a decrease in the quantity and value of sales, and higher financing expenses.<\/p>\n<p>Eastern Cement Company came in third place, announcing an increase in net profit to 198 million riyals, in 2023, compared to 143 million riyals profit in the previous year, an increase of 38.46%.<\/p>\n<p>The company said the higher net profit came as a result of higher sales volume <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/14.34%\">Cement<\/a> <\/strong>and precast concrete, higher dividends and Murabaha income, along with higher other revenues.<\/p>\n<p>Umm Al-Qura Cement recorded the lowest profits at the<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/amlak.net.sa\/en\/tag\/%d8%b4%d8%b1%d9%83%d8%a7%d8%aa-%d8%a7%d9%84%d8%a3%d8%b3%d9%85%d9%86%d8%aa\/\"> Cement companies<\/a><\/strong> in 2023, after the company's profits fell by 82.8% to SAR 3.95 million, compared to profits of SAR 23 million in 2022, due to a decrease in the quantity and value of sales, higher costs, general and administrative expenses, and zakat
