develop municipal services and improve the quality of life in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/2llHdF4xmL\">Shura Council<\/a> <\/strong>The Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing is required to implement a number of requests aimed at addressing some of the challenges and promoting sustainable urban development.<\/p>\n<p data-sourcepos=\"7:1-7:12\"><strong>The requests made by the Shuwa Council include the following:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol data-sourcepos=\"9:1-15:23\">\n<li data-sourcepos=\"9:1-14:0\">\n<p data-sourcepos=\"9:4-9:29\"><strong>Evaluate municipal services:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-sourcepos=\"11:4-14:0\">\n<li data-sourcepos=\"11:4-11:132\">Assigning the ministry to conduct a comprehensive study to assess the current status of its services, including infrastructure, basic services, and systems and regulations.<\/li>\n<li data-sourcepos=\"12:4-12:93\">Identify the strengths and weaknesses of the services provided, and develop indicators to measure and continuously improve performance.<\/li>\n<li data-sourcepos=\"13:4-14:0\">Develop a specific timeline to address any deficiencies or shortages in services.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li data-sourcepos=\"15:1-15:23\">\n<p data-sourcepos=\"15:4-15:23\"><strong>Regulate and standardize building regulations:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-sourcepos=\"17:4-20:0\">\n<li data-sourcepos=\"17:4-17:112\">Work to organize and standardize building regulations in the Kingdom's cities, ensuring high quality and alignment with international best practices.<\/li>\n<li data-sourcepos=\"18:4-18:133\">Consider increasing the number of floors in neighborhoods, main and commercial streets, taking into account proper urban planning and appropriate population density.<\/li>\n<li data-sourcepos=\"19:4-20:0\">Ensure that new building systems accommodate changes, population growth, and growing economic activity.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li data-sourcepos=\"21:1-26:0\">\n<p data-sourcepos=\"21:4-21:50\"><strong>Supporting real estate development in less developed areas:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-sourcepos=\"23:4-26:0\">\n<li data-sourcepos=\"23:4-23:99\">Develop innovative financing programs and solutions to encourage real estate developers to invest in less developed areas.<\/li>\n<li data-sourcepos=\"24:4-24:88\">Providing incentives for developers to provide products and housing units suitable for the needs of the residents of these areas.<\/li>\n<li data-sourcepos=\"25:4-26:0\">Contribute to improving the level of services and infrastructure in less developed areas to attract investments and improve the quality of life.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li data-sourcepos=\"27:1-27:22\">\n<p data-sourcepos=\"27:4-27:22\"><strong>Addressing the deteriorating condition of roads in neighborhoods:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-sourcepos=\"29:4-32:0\">\n<li data-sourcepos=\"29:4-29:68\">Assigning the ministry to study the causes of the deteriorating condition of roads in residential neighborhoods.<\/li>\n<li data-sourcepos=\"30:4-30:97\">Coordinate with relevant service agencies to develop joint plans to rehabilitate roads and improve the level of services.<\/li>\n<li data-sourcepos=\"31:4-32:0\">Implement joint projects that ensure the delivery of services without affecting the quality of roads or traffic.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li data-sourcepos=\"33:1-38:0\">\n<p data-sourcepos=\"33:4-33:40\"><strong>Evaluate the impact of leasing public parking lots:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-sourcepos=\"35:4-38:0\">\n<li data-sourcepos=\"35:4-35:118\">Evaluate the impact of renting public parking lots in central areas and commercial streets on<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/amlak.net.sa\/en\/61349\/\"> Real estate sector<\/a><\/strong> population and commercial traffic.<\/li>\n<li data-sourcepos=\"36:4-36:72\">Study the feasibility of encouraging investment in creating smart parking lots in congested areas.<\/li>\n<li data-sourcepos=\"37:4-38:0\">Develop plans for the governance of the operation of public parking lots to ensure the efficiency of the service and benefit the community.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li data-sourcepos=\"39:1-41:54\">\n<p data-sourcepos=\"39:4-39:36\"><strong>Dedicate lanes for emergency vehicles:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-sourcepos=\"41:4-41:54\">\n<li data-sourcepos=\"41:4-41:54\">Conducting a traffic study in coordination with the relevant authorities to allocate lanes on busy main streets for emergency and ambulance vehicles and public transportation buses.<\/li>\n<li data-sourcepos=\"42:4-43:0\">Ensure the unhindered movement of these vehicles to ensure that their services are delivered quickly and efficiently.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li data-sourcepos=\"44:1-48:0\">\n<p data-sourcepos=\"44:4-44:30\"><strong>Radon protection:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-sourcepos=\"46:4-48:0\">\n<li data-sourcepos=\"46:4-46:123\">Coordinate with the National Committee for the Saudi Building Code to ensure that all necessary measures are taken to prevent radon gas in buildings.<\/li>\n<li data-sourcepos=\"47:4-48:0\">Include radon protection requirements in the Saudi building code to ensure the safety and health of the population.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p data-sourcepos=\"51:1-52:120\">The Shura Council believes in the importance of the role of the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing in
