Issued Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources<\/a><\/strong> 86 new industrial licenses were issued during April 2024, distributed over a number of industrial activities, topped by the activity of manufacturing fabricated metal products excluding machinery and equipment with 17 licenses, followed by the activity of manufacturing rubber and plastics products, the activity of manufacturing chemicals and chemical products with 9 licenses for each activity, then the activity of manufacturing food products, the activity of manufacturing wood and wood and cork products excluding furniture, and manufacturing items of straw and braiding materials with 8 licenses for each activity.<\/p>\n

According to the report issued by the Ministry's National Industrial and Mining Information Center, the total number of Industrial licenses<\/a> <\/strong>The number of licenses issued by the ministry since the beginning of this year until the end of April amounted to 410 licenses, while the number of existing and under construction factories in the Kingdom reached 11,868 factories, with an investment volume of 1.375 trillion riyals as of the end of the same month.<\/p>\n

The report showed that the volume of investments in new licenses for the month of April amounted to 2,264 billion riyals, and small enterprises accounted for most of the new industrial licenses during the same month with 80,23%, followed by medium enterprises with 13,95%, while national factories recorded the largest percentage of the total licenses issued by type of investment with 100%.<\/p>\n

The report showed that the factories that started production during the month of April amounted to 67 factories, with an investment volume of 1,508 billion riyals, led by food products factories with 12 factories, chemicals and chemical products factories with 11 factories, rubber and plastics products factories with 10 factories, base metals factories, fabricated metal products factories excluding machinery, and other non-metallic metal products factories with 5 factories for each category, while national factories dominated the total number of factories that started production with 92.54% by type of investment, followed by joint venture factories with 5.97% and foreign-invested factories with 1.49%.<\/p>\n

The report indicated that the new industrial licenses were distributed in 10 administrative regions, led by Riyadh region with 36 factories, followed by Makkah region with 22 factories, Eastern Province with 17 factories, Medina region with 3 factories, Qassim region and Hail region with 2 factories each, Najran region, Asir region, Jawf region, and Tabuk region with 1 factory each.<\/p>\n
